Abstract

Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi perlu adanya suatu lembaga penyedia informasi seperti perpustakaan perguruan tinggi. Salah satu Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi yang melaksanakan kegiatan pengembangan koleksi local content baik tercetak maupun elektronik adalah Perpustakaan STIE Malangkucecwara. Koleksi local content yang dihasilkan berasal dari dosen dan mahasiswa yang melaksanakan penelitian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui, mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis pengembangan koleksi local content di Perpustakaan STIE Malangkucecwara, serta faktor pendukung dan penghambat yang dimiliki. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini yaitu data primer dan sekunder. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Model interaktif oleh Miles, Huberman, dan Saldana dengan tahapan pengumpulan data, kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan koleksi local content di Perpustakaan STIE Malangkucecwara belum memiliki kebijakan khusus secara tertulis. Proses pengembangan koleksi local content belum melaksanakan kegiatan kajian pengguna dan penyiangan koleksi local content. Seleksi bahan pustaka dilakukan dengan cara kerjasama antara dosen penguji, pihak akademik dan pustakawan. Pengadaan koleksi yang dilakukan hanya mengandalkan hadiah dari mahasiswa dan dosen yang melaksanakan penelitian. Evaluasi koleksi dilakukan dengan begitu saja, karena perpustakaan belum memiliki kebijakan tertulis. Pustakawan berusaha melakukan sebuah kerjasama dengan LPPM. Dengan kerjasama tersebut koleksi local content baik di perpustakaan dan LPPM saling terintegrasi melalui database OSREL. Faktor pendukung dalam pengembangan koleksi local content ini adalah seleksi koleksi local content yang dilaksanakan secara langsung melalui kerjasama dengan dosen penguji dan pihak akademik, sarana dan prasarana komputer yang memadai. Faktor penghambat pengembangan koleksi local content ini adalah kerjasama tidak tertulis dengan lembaga induk (LPPM dan Pascasarjana), sarana dan prasarana ruang khusus koleksi local content. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian tersebut, disarankan kepada Perpustakaan STIE Malangkucecwara untuk membuat sebuah kebijakan tertulis tentang pengembangan koleksi local content, membuat kerjasama secara tertulis dengan pihak LPPM dan pascasarjana, perlu adanya kebijakan resmi dari Ketua STIE Malangkucecwara mengenai serah simpan koleksi hasil karya ilmiah mahasiswa maupun dosen, perlu adanya ruang khusus untuk mengelola, menyimpan, dan melayankan koleksi local content baik tercetak maupun elektronik.

English Abstract

The development of science and technology needs the existence of an institution of information providers such as college libraries. One of the Library of Higher Education which conducts the development of local content collection both printed and electronic is STIE Malangkucecwara Library. The collection of local content generated comes from lecturers and students who conduct the research. The purpose of this research is to know, describe and analyze the development of local content collection in STIE Malangkucecwara Library along with the supporting and inhibiting factors. This research used descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The data source for this research is primary and secondary data. The data analysis used in this research is the interactive model by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana with data collection stage, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion. The result of the research indicated that the development of local content collection in STIE Malangkucecwara Library has no specific written policy yet. The process of developing the local content collection has not carried out the user review activity and weeding the local content collection. The selection of library materials conducted by the cooperation between the examiners, the academics, and the librarians. The procurement of collection is done just rely on prizes from students and lecturers who conduct the research. The evaluation of collection is done offhand because the library has no the written policy. The librarians are trying to cooperate with LPPM. By such cooperation, the collection of local content both in libraries and LPPM are integrated through OSREL database. The supporting factor in the development of local content collection is the selection of local content collection that is implemented directly through cooperation with the examiners and the academics, facilities and adequate computer infrastructure. The inhibiting factors of the development of local content collection are the unwritten cooperation with the main institution (LPPM and Postgraduate), facilities and specific space infrastructure of the local content collection. Based on the findings of this research, it is suggested to STIE Malangkucecwara Library to make a written policy about the development of the local content collection, make written cooperation with LPPM and the postgraduate. It is necessary to have an official policy from STIE Malangkucecwara Chairman about transferring the collection of scientific work of students and lecturers, the necessity of specific space to manage, store, and serve the local content collection both printed and electronic.
