Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara konformitas dengan academic dishonesty pada mahasiswa. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 498 responden. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan teknik non random sampling. Skala yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah skala konformitas dan skala academic dishonesty. Skala konformitas merupakan skala modifikasi milik Sandidwipa dan skala academic dishonesty merupakan skala dari Lin & Wen yang diadaptasi dari Wingkis. Kedua skala ini menghasilkan koefeisien reliabilitas sebesar 0,771 pada skala konformitas dan 0,890 pada skala academic dishonesty. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis korelasi Product-Moment Pearson dengan koefisien 0,198 dan nilai siginifikansi sebesar 0,0001 ( p < 0,05) yang berarti bahwa terdapat hubungan antara konformitas dengan academic dishonesty pada mahasiswa. Adanya hubungan yang positif antara konformitas dengan academic dishonesty yang artinya semakin tinggi konformitas maka semakin tinggi juga perilaku academic dishonesty pada mahasiswa.

English Abstract

The aims of this research is to find out the relationship between peer conformity and academic dishonesty on college students. The population in this study are college students with total sample 498 respondents. Technique sampling on this research is using non random sampling. The conformity and the academic dishonesty are measured by using likert scale. The scale of conformity is the modification scale owned by Sandidwipa and the scale of academic dishonesty owned by Lin & Wen and adapted from Wingkis. Both of these scales yield reliability coefficients of 0.771 on the conformity scale and 0.890 on the academic dishonesty scale. The data is analyzed by correlation product moment pearson with coefficient 0,198 and significance value 0.0001 (p <0,05) meaning that there is relationship between peer conformity with academic dishonesty on college students. The existence of a positive relationship between conformity and academic dishonesty which means the higher the conformity, the higher the behavior of student academic dishonesty.
