Abstract
Pengomposan merupakan salah satu usaha dalam mengatasi permasalahan pada pengolahan limbah rumah tangga. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas kompos yang dihasilkan menggunakan rancangan komposter terkontrol suhu dan aerasi. Komposter ini dilengkapi dengan pengontrol suhu untuk menjaga proses pengomposan pada suhu ideal yaitu 40-550 C. Alat ini juga dilengkapi dengan kontrol aerasi yang diberikan secara intermitten selama 30 menit sekali dan akan mati selama 40 menit dengan laju aerasi 2 L/menit. Bahan baku yang digunakan yaitu sampah organik berupa sayuran dan daun sebanyak 15 kg. Proses pengomposan berlangsung selama 27 hari dan mampu menghasilkan kompos yang matang dengan indikator perubahan suhu dan perubahan fisik kompos. Hasil pengujian kualitas kompos dengan masingmasing parameter yaitu rasio C/N 16.93%, kadar air 51.41%, pH 8.15%, C-Organik 17.61%, N-total 1.04%, P2O5 0.67%, K2O 5.18%, Mg 1.28%, Ca 0.79%, dan S 0.43%. Berdasarkan kesesuaian dengan persyaratan pada Permentan No. 70 Tahun 2011 tentang pupuk Organik dan SNI Kompos menunjukkan bahwa parameter rasio C/N, C-Organik, N-Total, P2O5 dan K2O telah memenuhi syarat, sedangkan parameter kadar air dan pH belum memenuhi syarat. Sehingga secara umum kualitas produk kompos yang telah dihasilkan dapat dikatakan telah memenuhi parameter-parameter yang dipersyaratkan oleh Permentan No. 70 Tahun 2011 atau SNI Kompos Tahun 2004.
English Abstract
Composting is one of the efforts in overcoming problems in household waste management. Domestic composting process can be done by using composter. In this study aims to determine the quality of compost produced using the design of composter with temperature and aeration controlled. The composter is equipped with a temperature controller to keep the composting process at an ideal temperature of 40-550 C. This composter is also equipped with aeration control given intermittently for 30 minutes once and will off for 40 minutes with a rate of aeration of 2 L / min. The raw materials used are organic waste in the form of vegetables and leaves of 15 kg.. Based on the research conducted the composting process lasted for 27 days and able to produce a mature compost with indicators of temperature changes and physical changes of compost. The results of testing the quality of compost with each parameter are C / N ratio of 16.93%, water content 51.41%, pH 8.15%, C-Organic 17.61%, N-total 1.04%, P2O5 0.67%, K2O 5.18%, Mg 1.28% Ca 0.79%, and S 0.43%. based on the Permentan No. 70 2011 and SNI Compost 2004 indicates that parameter C/N ratio, COrganik, N-Total, P2O5 and K2O has fulfilled the required, but parameter water content and pH has not fulfilled the required. So in general the quality of the compost product has fulfilled the parameters required by Permentan No. 70 2011 or SNI Compost 2004.
