Abstract
Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menganalisis tentang penanda wacana pada sebuah percakapan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui penanda wacana apa saja yang digunakan oleh pembicara dan menganalisa fungsi dari penanda wacana tersebut di dalam percakapan. Untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian, peneliti menggunakan teori penanda wacana dari Schiffrin (1987) dan teori Fraser (1999). Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunkan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah transkip percakapan antara seorang jurnalis/pembawa berita dengan dua ahli politik dalam sebuah diskusi yang mendiskusikan tentang kasus penistaan agama yang dilakukan oleh Ahok. Hasil analisis yang didapat oleh peneliti menunjukkan bahwa ada 5 penanda wacana yang paling sering digunakan oleh pembicara tersebut terdiri dari penanda wacana “and”, “y’know”,“so”,“but” dan “I mean” dan penanda yang mendominasi adalah penanda wacana “and” yang berkerja pada tingkatan bicara ideational structure dimana penanda wacana ini memiliki fungsi sebagai sebuah tanda jika pembicara sedang memberikan dukungan pada penjelasan dari pendapat mereka. Penggunaan penanda wacana pada percakapan ini juga memilik makna jika pembicara ingin menunjukkan kelanjutan atau giliran bicara dari penyampaian opini-opini mereka. Pemilihan penandan wacana “dan” juga akan membuat ucapan mereka memiliki makna yang berurutan, koheren, dan mudah di pahamai oleh para pendengar. Faktor yang mempengaruhi pemilihan penanda wacana adalah isi dari opini yang akan disampaikan. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menyarankan kepada peneliti selanjutnya yang ingin melakukan penelitian di bidang yang sama untuk meneliti objek lain dengan menggunakan teori lain tentang penanda wacana yang berkaitan dengan bidang linguistik lainnya.
English Abstract
In This Study, researchers analyze the discourse markers in a conversation. This study is conducted with the aim to find out what kind of discourse markers are used by the speaker in the conversation and investigate the functions of the discourse markers. To reach the objectives of the research, the researcher used discourse theory from Schiffrin (1987) and Fraser (1999) theory. In this research, the researchers using descriptive qualitative methods. The data sources in this research is a transcript of a conversation between a journalist/reporter and two political experts in a discussion that discusses Ahok’s case conviction for blasphemy. The results of the analysis that obtained by the researcher shows that there are 5 (five) discourse markers used by the speakers. These consist of “and”, “y’know”, “so”, “but” and “I mean” discourse markers and dominant markers are “and” which worked in the level of talk: ideational structure. In this level of talk, discourse marker functionss as a sign if the speaker is supporting their explanation. The use of discourse markers which work at the ideational level of talk also indicates the speaker’s continuation or turn in delivering their opinions. The selection of discourse markers “and” also make the utterance become a sequential, coherent, and easy to be understood by listeners. The factors that influence the selection of the discourse marker are the content of the opinion which the speaker will convey. In this research, researchers suggest to the further researchers who interested to do a research in the same field to analyze other objects by using other theories about the discourse markers which associated with other linguistic fields.
