Abstract
Saat ini selain pencemaran akibat limbah industri, pencemaran akibat limbah domestikpun telah menunjukkan tingkat yang cukup serius. Akibat masih minimnya fasilitas pengolahan air buangan kota (sewerage system) mengakibatkan tercemarnya badan sungai oleh air limbah domestik, bahkan badan sungai yang diperuntukkan sebagai bahan baku air minumpun telah tercemar pula. Metode pengolahan limbah secara biologis dengan metode anaerob dan aerob merupakan salah satu alternatif pengolahan untuk limbah domestik. Dua metode tersebut dibandingkan untuk mengetahui metode mana yang lebih efektif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni mengetahui efisiensi removal BOD dan Protein pada limbah domestik dengan metode aerob dan anaerob pada media pvc sarang tawon dan membandingkan efisiensi removal metode aerob dan metode anaerob. .Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental. Limbah cair domestik merupakan limbah MCK (mandi, cuci, kakus) yang berasal dari Kelurahan Tlogomas RT 03 RW 07 Kota Malang. Proses pengolahan limbah cair domestik dilakukan dengan reaktor kaca dengan ukuran 30x30x30 cm sebagai reaktor anaerob serta reaktor aerob yang berjumlah 2 buah sebagai ulangan. Media biofilter yang digunakan terbuat dari pipa PVC yang disusun dengan model sarang tawon.Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah BOD, Protein, dan Pertumbuhan bakteri selama proses pengolahan limbah diukur pada inffluen awal, effluen reaktor anaerob dan aerob dengan waktu detensi 15 jam pada masing-masing reaktor dengan waktu pengambilan sampel tiap 3 jam vii sekali. Hasil yang didapat selanjutnya dibandingkan pengolahan mana yang lebih efektif. Hasil dari penelitian yakni nilai efisiensi pengolahan aerob didapatkan hasil penurunan BOD sebesar 70,97 % dan Protein sebesar 80,85 % serta pertumbuhan bakteri mengalami peningkatan sebesar 70,97 % sedangkan untuk pengolahan secara anaerob didapatkan hasil efisiensi penurunan BOD sebesar 25,57 % dan Protein sebesar 60,64 % serta pertumbuhan bakteri mengalami peningkatan sebesar 89,25 %. Hasil perbandingan yang telah didapatkan sistem pengolahan secara aerob lebih efektif dari sistem pengolahan secara anaerob dalam menurunkan kandungan BOD, Protein, dan meningkatkan Pertumbuhan Bakteri.
English Abstract
Currently as an addition to pollution due to industrial waste, pollution due to domestic waste has shown a fairly serious level. Due to the lack of sewage treatment facilities (sewerage system) resulted in pollution of river bodies by domestic wastewater, even the river body which is intended as raw material of mineral water has been polluted as well. Biological waste treatment methods using anaerob and aerobic method could become of the alternative treatment for domestic waste. The two methods are compared to find out which method is more effective. The purpose of this research is to know the efficiency of removal of BOD and Protein on domestic waste by aerob and anaerob method with pvc honeycomb as biofilter media. The research method used is experimental method. Domestic wastewater is a toilet waste (bathing, washing, toilet) taken from Tlogomas Village RT 03 RW 07 Malang. Domestic wastewater treatment process is conducted using glass reactor that as setted as anaerobic reactor and aerob that is reactor both process was conducted in two glass reactor as repetition. Media biofilter used is made from PVC pipe which prepared with model of honeycomb.Parameter observed in this research was BOD, Protein, and Growth of bacteria. The parameters were measured at initial inffluen, anaerob and aerobic reactor effluents with a detention time of 15 hours on each reactor with sampling time every 3 hours. The results obtained then compared to which processing was more effective. The showed that the value of aerobic processing efficiency, for BOD was decrease as much as70,97% and Protein 80,85% while the growth of bacteria increased 70,97%. The result for vii was anaerobic processing showed that BOD removal efficiency 25,57% and Protein of 60.64% and bacterial growth increased by 89.25%. The aerobic processing system was more effective than anaerobic processing system for BOD content, Protein, and Growth Bacteria.
