Abstract

Industri di Indonesia berkembang sangat pesat, terutama industri tekstil. Perkembangan tersebut dapat berdampak dalam meningkatnya ekonomi negara. Selain meningkatnya sektor ekonomi, perkembangan industri tekstil juga menghasilkan limbah cair yang mengandung logam berat salah satunya Cd (Cadmium). Perlu adanya pengolahan limbah cair sebagai langkah pengendalian lingkungan dengan menggunakan metode adsorpsi dengan adsorben berasal dari alam (biosorben) berupa karbon aktif subgrade teh hitam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimental laboratorik atau percobaan skala laboratorium dengan menggunakan rancang acak lengkap (RAL) faktorial mengetahui keefektivitasan dan kadar optimum dari karbon aktif subgrade teh hitam dengan aktivasi fisika dan kimia serta kadar karbon aktif sebanyak 2 gram, 3 gram dan 4 gram dalam adsorpsi logam Cd (Cadmium) limbah cair industri tekstil. Hasil dari penelitian tersebut didapat penurunan kadar logam Cd (Cadmium) sebanyak 91,67% pada perlakuan A2B2 (karbon aktif subgrade teh hitam 2 gram aktivasi secara fisika dan 2 gram aktivasi secara kimia) pada sampel limbah cair 500 mL.

English Abstract

Indonesia’s industry is growing very rapidly, especially the textile industry. Such development can have an impact in increasing the country’s economy. In addition to growing sectir of the economy, the development of the textile industry also produces liquid waste containing heavy metal one Cd (Cadmium). Need for the processing of liquid waste as environmental control measure by using adsorption methods with adsorbent derived from nature (biosorben) in the form of activated carbon subgrade black tea. This research use experimental research methods laboratorik or laboratory-scale experiments using random design complete factorial know effectiveness and optimum levels of activated carbon with black tea subgrade physical and chemical activation and active carbon levels by as much 2g, 3g and 4g in metal adsorption of Cd (Cadmium) liquid waste textile industry. The result of such research obtained metal levels decrease Cd (Cadmium) as much as 91,67% on treatment A2B2 (activated carbon subgrade black tea 2g activation in physics and chemical activation of 2g) in a sample of 500 mL of liquid waste.
