Abstract
Berkembangnya sektor pertanian di Indonesia dimulai sejak masa orde baru dimana pemerintah membentuk Rencana Pembangunan Lima Tahun (REPELITA) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi dan mendorong keberhasilan swasembada pangan khususnya beras. Modernisasi adalah paradigma dari pembangunan pertanian yang merupakan transformasi dari sistem tanam tradisional menuju sistem yang modern. Penelitian ini digolongkan dalam penelitian perkembangan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Metode penentuan informan yang digunakan adalah non probability sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa transformasi di Desa Kucur terjadi secara bertahap. Komoditas yang ditanam di Desa Kucur adalah komoditas pangan seperti jagung, singkong, dan padi. Petani melakukan transformasi pertanian melalui perubahan komoditas ke arah komersial yang awalnya memerlukan perawatan kurang intensif menuju perawatan semi intensif. Faktor eksternal terdiri dari adanya permintaan pasar, keadaan sosial, kebijakan pemerintah, adanya dorongan kelompok tani dan penyuluh, serta kemajuan teknologi. Ciri-ciri petani inovator yang melakukan transformasi pertanian adalah petania yang memiliki aspirasi tidak terbatas, memiliki cara pandang yang luas, berani mengambil resiko, dan memiliki kondisi lahan yang sesuai.
English Abstract
The development of agricultural sector in Indonesia began since the New Order era where the government formed a Five Year Development Plan (REPELITA) which aimed to increase economic growth and encouraged the success of food self-sufficiency, especially rice. Modernization is the paradigm of agricultural development which is the transformation of the traditional cultivation system into a modern system. This research is classified into developmental research using qualitative methods. Informant determination method used is non probability sampling with purposive sampling technique. The results show that the transformation in the village occurs gradually. The commodities grown in the Kucur village are food commodities such as corn, cassava, and rice. Farmers are transforming agriculture through commodity-shifting towards commercial ones that initially require less intensive care toward semi-intensive care. Factors affecting the transformation of agriculture can be seen from internal and external of the farmers themselves. Internal factors consist of increasing the needs of farmers and ownership of farmland. External factors consist of market demand, social circumstances, government policies, the incentives of farmer groups and extension workers, and technological advances. The characteristics of innovator farmers who transform agriculture are those who have unlimited aspirations, have wide perspective, take risks, and have suitable land conditions.
