Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menjelaskan pengaruh salinitas yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan dan menentukan salinitas terbaik untuk pertumbuhan, produksi biomassa dan klorofil-a Chaetoceros calcitrans. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen RAL dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan penelitian ini menggunakan perbedaan salinitas 10 ppt, 15 ppt, 20 ppt, dan 25 ppt. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa salinitas yang berbeda berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan, produksi biomassa dan klorofil-a Chaetoceros calcitrans. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan salinitas terbaik untuk laju pertumbuhan spesifik 0,592 hari-1, produksi biomassa 0,66 g L-1 dan klorofil-a 4,86 mg L-1 pada salinitas 19 ppt. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa salinitas 19 ppt meningkatkan pertumbuhan, produksi biomassa dan klorofil-a Chaetoceros calcitrans.
English Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe the influence different salinities on the growth rate, biomass production and chlorophyll a and determine the best salinity on the growth rate, biomass and chlorophyll a production of Chaetoceros calcitrans. The method used was a completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications. In this study, different salinities of 5 ppt, 15 ptt, 25 ppt, and 35 ppt were investigated. The results showed that different salinities were significantly influence the growth, biomass and chlorophyll-a production of Chaetoceros calcitrans. In this study, the highest specific growth rate of 0.592 day-1, biomass production of 0.66 g L-1, chlorophyll-a of 4,86 mg L-1 were obtained in salinity of 19 ppt. In conclusion, 19 ppt was the best salinity that affect the growth, biomass and chlorophyll-a production of Chaetoceros calcitrans.
