Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menjelaskan pengaruh salinitas yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan dan menentukan salinitas terbaik untuk pertumbuhan, produksi biomassa dan klorofil-a Isochrysis galbana. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen RAL dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan penelitian ini menggunakan perbedaan salinitas 5 ppt, 15 ppt, 25 ppt dan 35 ppt. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa salinitas yang berbeda berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan, produksi biomassa dan klorofil-a Isochrysis galbana. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan konsentrasi sel tertinggi sebesar 17,5 x 106 sel mL-1, laju pertumbuhan spesifik 0,344 hari-1, produksi biomassa 0,683 g L-1, dan klorofil-a 3,38 mg L-1 pada salinitas 15 ppt. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa salinitas 15 ppt dapat menghasilkan pertumbuhan, produksi biomassa dan klorofil-a Isochrysis galbana secara maksimal.
English Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe the influence of different salinities on the growth, biomass production and chlorophyll-a and determine the best salinity on the growth rate, biomass and chlorophyll-a production of Isochrysis galbana. The method used was a completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications. Different salinities was used in this study of 5 ppt, 15 ppt, 25 ppt, and 35 ppt were investigated. The results showed that different salinities were significantly influence the growth, biomass and chlorophyll-a production of Isochrysis galbana. In this study, the highest cell concentration of 17,5 x 106 sel mL-1, specific growth rate of 0,344 hari-1, biomass production of 0,683 g L-1, and chlorophyll-a of 3,38 mg L-1 were obtained in salinity of 15 ppt. In conclusion, 15 ppt was the best salinity that affect the growth, biomass and chlorophyll-a production of Isochrysis galbana.
