Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas mengenai peran dari petisi online dalam mempengaruhi social movement. Latar belakang dari skripsi ini adalah maraknya pemanfaatan media jejaring sosial untuk menghimpun masyarakat dalam suatu social movement tertentu. Pergerakan sekarang sangat berbeda, hanya dengan memainkan penggunaan unsur kebahasaan yang mempersuasif masyarakat untuk bergerak melalui petisi online tersebut mampu dikatakan sebagai social movement. Skripsi ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ingin mengetahui bagaimana peran dari petisi online dengan social movement. Sedangkan, fokus penelitian pada tiga kemenangan petisi online di change.org selama tahun 2016 yaitu, Tolak Kebijakan Obral Remisi untuk Koruptor, Gloria Natapraja Hamel Sebagai Paskibraka 2016, dan Cabut SK DO Rektor, Selamatkan Ronny Setiawan. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa petisi online dengan menggunakan change.org dapat membentuk social movement terutama bagi isu-isu yang tengah menjadi perbincangan di masyarakat dan terus berkembang. Hal tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa petisi online memiliki kekuatan untuk mempengaruhi social movement kepada masyarakat.
English Abstract
This research discusses the role of online petition in influencing social movement. The background of this paper is the use of social networking media considerably to collect society in a certain social movement. Nowadays, the movement is very different, just by playing the use of language elements that persuasive the community to move through the online petition can be said as a “social movement”. This minor thesis is a descriptive research using qualitative method. The purpose of this research is to know how the role of online petition with social movement. Meanwhile, the focus of research is on three online petitions won at change.org during the year 2016, Reject Remissions Policy for Corruptors, Gloria Natapraja Hamel As Paskibraka 2016, and Revoke SK DO Rector, Save Ronny Setiawan. The results of this study can be concluded that online petition by using change.org can form a social movement, especially for issues that are becoming conversation in the community and growing. It indicates that online petition has the power to influence social movement to the public.
