Abstract
Tujuan penelitian untuk melihat korelasi kontrol diri dengan perilaku merokok pada remaja awal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasional, dengan karakteristik subyek yaitu remaja berusia 11-15 tahun, merokok atau sudah pernah merokok. Analisis data menggunakan uji korelasional Pearson. Skala penelitian yaitu skala kontrol diri dengan menggunakan teori Averill (1973) dan skala perilaku merokok dengan menggunakan teori Aritonang (1997, dalam Nasution 2007). Hasil penelitian dari 121 sampel ditemukan korelasi sebesar -0,74 dengan signifikansi 0,418, artinya tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kontrol diri dengan perilaku merokok pada remaja awal.
English Abstract
The purpose of this research is to focus on seeing the correlation between self control and smoking behaviour of early youth. This research used a quantitative correlation method, with a subject characteristics of youth of age 11 - 15 years old, whether they have ever or never smoke. The data analysis is using Pearson's correlation test. The research scale is a self control scale using a theory from Averill (1973) and smoking behaviour scale using a theory from Aritonang (1997 in Nasution, 2007). The result of this research, from 121 respondents I got a correlation of - 0,74 with a significant level of 0,418, which means that self control and smoking behaviour in the early youth are not significant.
