Abstract
Kota Batu merupakan salah satu kota pariwisata di Jawa Timur. Kota Batu sebagai Kota pariwisata memiliki perkembangan industri pariwisata yang semakin meningkat. Theme park merupakan industri mendominasi daya tarik wisata di kota Batu yang banyak mendatangkan wisatawan. Museum Angkut dan Kusuma Agrowisata mewakili theme park di Kota Batu untuk tujuan penelitian. Oleh sebab itu maka perlu diketahui bagaimana peranan adanya perkembangan theme park di kota Batu terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja khususnya di Museum Angkut dan Kusuma Agrowisata serta apa saja hambatan – hambatan yang mempengaruhi penyerapan tenaga kerja, sehingga peneliti ini mengangkat judul “Peran Theme Park pada Industri Pariwisata dalam Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja di Kota Batu. (Studi pada Museum Angkut dan Kusuma Agrowisata)”. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan exploratory research dengan rumusan masalah, yaitu (1) Bagaimana penyerapan tenaga kerja pada theme park bagi masyarakat Kota Batu? (2) Bagaimana hambatan–hambatan yang terjadi pada theme park dalam penyerapan tenaga kerja di Kota Batu ?. Sumber data diperoleh dari informan, observasi, dokumen dan juga dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan empat tahap yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Penyerapan tenaga kerja di Museum Angkut dan Kusuma Agrowisata didominasi oleh tenaga kerja yang berasal dari Kota Batu. (2) Hambatan dalam panyerapan tenaga kerja yang terjadi di Museum Angkut yaitu tidak adanya perekrutan secara terbuka pada awal operasionalnya. Sedangkan hambatan yang terjadi pada Kusuma Agrowisata adalah pengurangan tenaga kerja secara bertahap. Berdasarkan uraian, peneliti memberi rekomendasi kepada pihak Industri pariwisata di Kota Batu, Pemerintah Kota Batu dan masyarakat Kota Batu.
English Abstract
Batu City is one of the tourism cities in East Java. Batu City as a tourism City has a more increased development in the tourism industry. The development of tourism industry in Batu City can be viewed from the increasing amount of visiting tourists and the appearance of new attractions. The data shows that the development of tourism industry in the City of Batu is not going in line with the increasing rate of unemployment. Museum Angkut and Kusuma Agrowisata represents the attraction of Batu City as a research purposes. Therefore it will be necessary to know how the role of workforce absorbment in Museum Angkut and Kusuma Agrowisata and also the obstacles which affects the workforce absorbment, so that the researcher will take the title of " Theme Parks role in the Tourism Industry in Absorbing The Workforce in Batu City (Study at Museum of Angkut and Kusuma Agrowisata).". This type of research uses exploratory research with problems formulations that were (1) How is the workforce absorbment in tourism industry for the societies in Batu City? (2) How is the obstacles in the wokforce absorbment in Batu City?. The source of the data were obtained from informant, observation, documents and documentations. Data analyzing uses four steps which are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of the research showed that, (1) The workforce absorbment in Museum Angkut and Kusuma Agrowisata were dominated by the workers which comes from Batu City (2) The obstacles in the workforce absorbment in Museum Angkut is there are no open recruitment at the start of the operational process. While the obstacles that happened in Kusuma Agrowisata is the continuous decreasing of the employees. Based on the description, the researcher gives a recommendation to the tourism industry in Batu City, the government of Batu City and the societies of Batu City.
