Abstract

Pantai Serang merupakan pantai yang terletak di Kabupaten Blitar Jawa Timur, dimana pantai ini membentuk sebuah teluk yang dinamakan Teluk Serang dan terdiri atas tiga pantai (Pantai Serang, Pantai Selok, dan Pantai Serit). Terdapatnya aliran Sungai Serang dan Serit dapat memberikan pengauh terhadap proses pantai, baik abrasi ataupun sedimentasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi hidrooseanografi, distribusi dan karakteristik sedimen, perubahan garis pantai dan dinamika yang terjadi di Teluk Serang. Pengambilan data arus dan sedimen dilakukan di sepanjang Teluk Serang. Pola transpor sedimen dianalisa dengan diagram Hjulstrom. Sedangkan analisa perubahan garis pantai menggunakan data citra satelit Landsat (tahun 2001, 2006, dan 2011) dan dilakukan overlay dengan data tracking garis pantai terbaru (2017). Hasil analisis sedimen menunjukkan Teluk Serang didominasi oleh pasir sedang. Kecepatan arus berkisar antara 0.37-0.83 m/s serta arah arus menuju ke barat daya. Analisis perubahan garis pantai menunjukkan ketiga pantai mengalami abrasi, namun juga terjadi akresi (penambahan sedimen) utamanya pantai yang berada di dekat muara sungai yaitu Pantai Serang dan Pantai Serit dengan besaran perubahan yang berbeda setiap tahunnya. Hasil diagram Hjulstrom juga menunjukkan pola yang sama bahwa pantai mengalami abrasi. Dinamika pantai di Teluk Serang dapat disimpulkan mengalami proses pantai yang secara umum disebabkan karena faktor fisik alam, termasuk arus musim.

English Abstract

Serang beach is located in Blitar regency of East Java, where it formed a bay known as Serang Bay which consisted of three separate beaches (Serang Beach, Selok Beach, and Serit Beach). The existence of Serang and Serit river currents could affect the coastal processes existing on the beach, such as abrasion or sedimentation. The purposes of this research are determine the hydro oceanography condition, the distribution and characteristics of the sediment, the coastline change and the dynamics occurring on Serang Bay. The data regarding current and sediment were collected along the Serang Beach. Sediment transport pattern were analyzed using Hjulstrom diagram. While the analysis of coastline change was conducted using Landsat satellite image data (2001, 2006, and 20011) and overlay was done by using the most recent coastline tracking data. Sediment analysis result showed that Serang Bay was dominated by medium sand. The current velocity ranged from 0.37-0.83 m/s and the current itself flowed to southwest. The coastline change analysis showed abrasion occurred on the three beaches, with little sediment input from the river and with varying degree of changes every year. The Hjulstrom diagram also illustrated the same pattern which showed that abrasion was occurring on the beaches. It can be concluded that the coastal dynamics on Serang Bay experience a coastal process generally caused by natural physical factor, including seasonal currents.
