Abstract
Hubungan antar etnis memiliki pola-pola tersendiri, khususnya di Indonesia sebagai negara yang multikultural. Desa Gudo, Kecamatan Gudo, Kabupaten Jombang merupakan salah satu representasi masyarakat multikultural. Masyarakat Gudo tidak hanya beragam dari segi agama, namun juga multi etnis. Di Desa Gudo sendiri terdapat Klenteng Hong San Kiong yakni klenteng tertua di Jawa Timur yang terbuka untuk berbagai kalangan yang ingin berkunjung. Nilai-nilai multikulturalisme tersebut juga diterapkan oleh para pegawai Klenteng Hong San Kiong yang merupakan orang Jawa dalam menjalin relasi dengan orang Tionghoa yang merupakan pengurus klenteng tersebut. Hal ini yang membuat masyarakat Gudo sarat akan nilai-nilai multikulturalisme dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan life history melalui cerita-cerita kehidupan para pegawai klenteng. Dalam penelitian ini, relasi sosial pegawai memiliki pola relasi sosial berbeda dengan sesama pegawai serta dengan pengurus. Hal ini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, seperti pembagian peran serta status sosial ekonomi yang tentu berbeda dengan pengurus yang merupakan orang Tionghoa. Disisi lain, hubungan antar pegawai merupakan representasi dari hubungan yang solid karena terjalin dalam waktu yang lama. Terlepas dari pola-pola relasi sosial yang berbeda tersebut, relasi sosial tersebut justru membangun hubungan kerjasama yang baik dan stabil baik dengan sesama pegawai maupun dengan pengurus klenteng. Hal ini terjadi tidak hanya karena beberapa motif atau faktor yang melatar belakangi terjalinnya relasi sosial, namun terdapat nilai-nilai multikulturalisme yang memperkuat hubungan antara pegawai dan pengurus yang memiliki latar belakang etnis dan agama berbeda. Relasi sosia ini menggambarkan sisi lain dari pengabdian serta hubungan kerja antara orang Tionghoa dan orang Jawa yang kerap dipandang sebelah mata.
English Abstract
Inter-ethnic relations have distinctive patterns, especially in Indonesia as a multicultural country. Gudo Village, Gudo District, Jombang Regency is one of multicultural society representation. The Gudo people are not only religious, but also multi-ethnic. In the village of Gudo itself there is Hong San Kiong temple is pagoda in East Java which is open to various circles who want to visit. The values of multiculturalism are also carried out by employees of Hong San Kiong Temple who are Javanese in establishing relationships with the Chinese who are the administrators of the temple. This is what makes Gudo society full of multiculturalism values in everyday life. This research uses qualitative method with life history approach through life stories of pagoda's employees. In this study, social relations employees have different social relations patterns with fellow employees as well as with the board. This is due to several factors, such as the division of roles and socioeconomic status which is certainly different from the board which is the Chinese. On the other hand, the relationship between employees is a representation of a solid relationship because it is established for a long time. Apart from these different patterns of social relations, these social relations actually build good and stable cooperative relationships both with fellow employees and with administrators of pagoda. This happens not only because of some of the motives or factors that lie behind the establishment of social relations, but there are multicultural values that strengthen the relationship between employees and administrators who have different ethnic and religious backgrounds. This social relation represents the other side of the devotion and working relationship between the Chinese and the Javanese who are often underestimated.
