Abstract
Myzus persicae Sulzer (Hemiptera : Aphididae) adalah salah satu hama yang menyerang pada tanaman kale. Hama M. persicae dapat menyebabkan daun keriting, pucuk berkerut sehingga pertumbuhan tanaman terganggu yang mengakibatkan penurunan kualitas maupun kuantitas dari tanaman kale. Kerugian yang dapat diakibatkan oleh M. persicae pada tanaman budidaya sebesar 6-25%. M. persicae pada umumnya dikendalikan menggunakan pestisida kimia dan mengakibatkan tertinggalnya residu pada hasil pertanian. Oleh sebab itu diperlukan pengendalian M. persicae yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Salah satu pengendalian yang ramah lingkungan adalah dengan memanfaatkan ekstrak rumput laut yang memiliki sifat penghambat pertumbuhan M. persicae. Rumput laut mengandung senyawa golongan alkanoid bersifat toksik, repellent, dan mempunyai aktifitas untuk menghambat makan serangga (antifeedant). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji tingkat penghambat ekstrak generik dan formula rumput laut terhadap populasi M. persicae pada tanaman kale serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak rumput laut terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman kale. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai Juni 2017 di Laboratorium Toksikologi Pestisida, Laboratorium Hama Tumbuhan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Brawijaya dan Rumah Sayur Organik Brenjonk (RSO), Trawas, Mojokerto. Penelitian di laboratorium meliputi uji repellent ekstrak generik dan formula rumput laut terhadap M. persicae dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 6 ml menggunakan metode plastik kontainer. Pengamatan diamati 24 jam setelah aplikasi meliputi jumlah kehadiran M. persicae pada perlakuan dan kontrol. Penelitian di Rumah Sayur Organik (RSO) meliputi aplikasi ekstrak generik dan formula rumput laut terhadap populasi dan tingkat penghambat M. persicae dengan perlakuan kontrol dan ekstrak generik serta formula rumput laut pada konsentrasi 2 ml, 4 ml dan 6 ml dengan menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan empat ulangan. Pengamatan yang diamati meliputi populasi M. persicae dan pertumbuhan tanaman kale antara lain tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun tanaman kale. Pengujian dilakukan dengan cara menyemprotkan perlakuan pada tanaman kale yang terserang M. persicae. Hasil dari aplikasi ekstrak generik dan formula rumput laut berpengaruh dalam menurunkan populasi M. persicae dan tidak mempengaruhi tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun pada tanaman kale. Hasil uji repelensi ekstrak generik dan formula rumput laut terhadap M. persicae dengan konsentrasi 6 ml bersifat repelen dengan kategori I atau agak lemah.
English Abstract
Myzus persicae Sulzer (Hemiptera: Aphididae) is one of the pest that attacks on kale plants. M. persicae can cause curly leaves, shoots wrinkled that caused the growth of plants will be disturbed that cause reduction of quality and quantity of kale plants. Losses caused by M. persicae on cultivation ranged 6-25%. The control of M. persicae is commonly done by using chemical pesticides and can cause the residual left behind on agricultural produce. Therefore, it is necessary to use the safer control to M. persicae. One of the safe control is to utilize seaweed extract which has M. persicae growth inhibitory properties. Seaweed contains compounds belong to alkanoid, repellent, and has activity as a antifeedant effect.. The purpose of this research is to observe the level of inhibition of generic and formula of extract seawed on population of M. persicae in kale plant and the effect of growth on kale plant. The research was conducted from April to June 2017 at Laboratory of Pesticide Toxicology, Laboratory of Plant Pest, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Brawijaya and Rumah Sayur Organik (RSO), Trawas, Mojokerto. Research in laboratory included repellency test of generic and formula extract of seawed againts M. persicae with 6 ml extract concentration with method container plastic. The observation was done 24 hours after application that including amount of M. persicae on the treatment and control. Research in Rumah Sayur Organik (RSO) included the study of the application generic and formula of extract seaweed to population and M. persicae decreation level. The treatment used control, generic and formula of extract seaweed with concentration i.e 2 ml, 4 ml and 6 ml using Randomized Block Design Method with four application. The research observation including amount M. persicae population and kale growth i.e kale plant height dan leaf number of kale plant. The test was done by spraying the treatments on kale plants that attacked by M. persicae. Seaweed formula is a mixture of active ingredients based on seaweed extract. The result showed that the generic and formula extract of seawed application affected for M. persicae population and didn’t enchance the plant high and the number of leaves on kale plants. A considerable repellency of generic and formula extract of seawed resulted as well as growth inhibitory effect on M. persicae.
