Abstract
Beberapa studi sebelumnya dalam konteks komunikasi keluarga dengan menggunakan teori dialektika relasional banyak berfokus pada hubungan antara anak dan orang tua tiri maupun hubungan antara anak dengan orang tua yang menjalani commuter marriage. Melengkapi beberapa penelitian sebelumnya, penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui komunikasi yang terjadi antara anak dan ayah ketika ayah memiliki wanita idaman lain selain ibunya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menawarkan perspektif baru dengan menyajikan sudut pandang anak terhadap ayah maupun ibunya setelah terjadi perselingkuhan. Secara spesifik penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui dialektika relasional yang terjadi dari sudut pandang anak ketika sosok ayah berselingkuh. Sosok ayah menjadi penting mengingat dalam konteks budaya yang ada di Indonesia, laki-laki dianggap lebih dominan sebagai kepala keluarga dengan peran yang lebih kompleks. Melalui desain penelitian fenomenologi, penelitian ini dilakukan pada tiga orang informan yang memiliki pengalaman perselingkuhan ayah. Pemilihan infoman dilakukan dengan cara purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap informan. Data yang diperoleh dari wawancara kemudian dianalisis dengan model Stevick-Collaizi-Keen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya masalah perselingkuhan memunculkan dua kontradiksi bagi anak terhadap ayahnya, yaitu parenting-non parenting dan openness-closedness. Perselingkuhan yang dilakukan oleh ayah membuat anak merasa bahwa ayahnya tidak melakukan peran sebagai ayah dengan baik. Selain itu, perubahan komunikasi antara ayah dan ibu setelah adanya masalah perselingkuhan juga membuat anak menjadi canggung untuk berkomunikasi dengan ayah.
English Abstract
Some of the earlier study in the context of family communication by using the theory of relational dialectics focused on the relationship between the child and the foster parents as well as the relationship between the children with parents who live a commuter marriage. To complete several previous studies, this study aimed to find out the communication that occurs between the child and the father's infidelity. Therefore, this study offers new perspectives by presenting the viewpoint of a child toward the father or mother after infidelity occurs. Specifically, this study aimed to find out the relational dialectics from the perspective of a children when the father is having an affair. The figure of the father was important in the context of cultures in Indonesia because men are considered more dominant as the head of family with a more complex role. Through the reasearch design of phenomenology, this study was conducted on the three informants who had experience of father infidelity. The selection of informants was done by purposive sampling. Data gathered by doing in-depth interview to informant. The data then analyzed with the model of Stevick-Collaizi-Keen. The results of this study indicate that father’s infidelity raises two contradictions for the children toward their father, namely parenting-non parenting and openness-closedness. The father’s infidelity make children feel that his father didn't do the role as well. In addition, communication changes between mom and dad after the problem of infidelity also makes children become awkward to communicate with the father.
