Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji korelasi harga diri terhadap kecenderungan depresi pada remaja akhir dengan jenis kelamin juga ditampilkan sebagai moderator. Populasi penelitian ini adalah remaja akhir, sedangkan sampel adalah siswa-siswi SMA 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya sebanyak 120 orang. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah Incidental Sampling. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan Skala Harga Diri dan Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). Metode analisis data adalah analisis moderator menggunakan Regresi Berjenjang (Hierarchy Regression). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara harga diri terhadap kecenderungan depresi, dengan sumbangan prediktor sebesar 18,2% (R Square= 0,182). Nilai F sebesar 26,291 (p=0,00; p<0,05), dan sisanya sebesar 71,8% ditentukan oleh faktor lain. Sementara pengaruh moderator jenis kelamin menunjukkan hasil nilai F yang menurun menjadi 0,045 (p=0,833; p>0,05), menandakan bahwa jenis kelamin tidak mempengaruhi hubungan antara harga diri dan kecenderungan depresi secara siginifikan.
English Abstract
The purpose of this research was to find out the correlation of Self-Esteem to the tendency of depression in adolescence with gender also shown as moderator. The population of this research are late adolescence and the sample was 120 students of 17 Agustus 1945 Senior High School Surabaya. Sampling technique used is Incidental Sampling. The data were collected by means of Self-Esteem scale and Back Depression Inventory. The moderator data were analyzed by using Hierarchy Regression. the results of this research were there was a significant effect of self esteem to the tendency of depression. The regression model informs that self-esteem (R Square= 0,182; p=0,00<0,05) predicted 18,2% of the tendency of depression so 71,8% is determined by other factors. While the influence of gender (p=0,833>0,05), indicating that gender doesn’t affect the relationship between self-esteem and the tendency of depression significantly.
