Abstract

Penelitian ini mengangkat tentang perkembangan pembertitaan pers mahasiswa. Penelitian di lakukan di Universitas Brawijaya dengan tiga lembaga pers mahasiswa yang di pilih secara acak yaitu lembaga pers mahasiswa DIANNS dari fakultas ilmu administrasi, lembaga pers mahasiswa Indikator dari fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis, lembaga pers mahasiswa UAPKM dari unit kegiatan mahasiswa (UKM) Brawijaya tahun 2007 hingga 2017. Mengetahui perkembangan pemberitaan pers mahasiswa lebih tertarik menyajikan berita tentang dalam kampus atau luar kampus.. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis framing dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Dengan menggunakan analisis framing Robert N. Entman yang menekan pada problem identification, casual Interpretation, moral evaluation dan treatment recommendation. Hasil dari penelitian ini memperlihatkan pers mahasiswa Dianns, UAPKM, dan Indikator pada berita yang disajikan lebih memfokuskan pada pemberitaan tentang pendidikan dalam kampus brawijaya sebagai topik berita utama yang diangkat dalam produk jurnalistiknya. Hal ini terlihat melalui frame pemberitaan tiga pers mahasiswa melalui pemilihan kata, pemilihan narasumber, pengutipan pesan serta penggunaan foto pada pemberitaan.

English Abstract

This research is about the development of students press coverage. The research was conducted in Universitas Brawijaya with three students press institutions which were randomly selected, namely the press institution of DIANNS students from the faculty of administration sciences, the student press institution Indicators from the faculty of Economics and Business, UAPKM students press institution from the student activity unit (UKM) Brawijaya 2007 until 2017. Development of press coverage of students are more interested in presenting the news about the campus or outside campus. This research uses framing analysis with the type of qualitative research descriptive. Using framing analysis by Robert N. Entman is pressing on problem identification, casual Interpretation, moral evaluation, and treatment recommendation. In the conclusion, study show that the press of Dianns, UAPKM, and Indicator students on the news presented more focused on the news about education and the dominant issue raised by the student press is tending to present internal issues within the brawijaya collage condition as well as existing problems as the main news topics raised In its journalistic products. This can be seen through the frames of the three students' press coverage through word selection, the selection of resource persons, the citation of messages and the use of photos on the news.
