Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan social loafing dengan diskusi politik pada mahasiswa di Kota Malang. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif korelasional. Partisipan secara keseluruhan berjumlah 100 orang dengan rentang umur 18-24 tahun. Data yang terkumpul menggunakan metode skala social loafing oleh Irawan (2014) serta skala diskusi politik modifikasi skala dari Thompson (2007) Berdasarkan hasil uji korelasi menggunakan metode product moment pearson didapatkan hasil hubungan yang signifikan dan berkorelasi negatif antara social loafing dan diskusi politik pada mahasiswa di Kota Malang (p < 0.05). Korelasi negatif berarti bahwa semakin tinggi nilai social loafing maka akan semakin rendah diskusi politik, begitu pula sebaliknya.

English Abstract

The purpose of this study was to dtermine the relationship between social loafing and political discussion. 100 students aged 18 ro 24 years old were involved in this study. Data collected in this study are using social loafing scale by Irawan and political discussion scale. Using pearson correlation, the result showed thar there was negative correlation between social loafing and political discussion (p<0.05), meaning that the higher the value of social loafing the lower political discussion is, and vice versa.
