Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara attitudes toward statistics terhadap statistics anxiety. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 98 mahasiswa Psikologi Universitas Brawijaya dengan menggunakan teknik nonprobabilty- purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan instrument Survey Attitudes Toward Statistics (SATS) untuk mengukur attiude toward statistics dan Statistics Anxiety Rating Scale (STARS) untuk mengukur statistics anxiety. Uji korelasi menggunakan Product Moment Pearson dengan signifikansi =0.000 (p<0.05) dan koefisien korelasi -607. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dengan korelasi negatif antara attitudes toward statistics dengan statistics anxiety, yang artinya bahwa jika ada peningkatan pada attitudes toward statistics maka statistics anxiety akan menurun dan begitupun sebaliknya.

English Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between attitudes toward statistics and statistics anxiety. The subject of this study involved 98 undergraduate Psychology students of Brawijaya University. This study used nonprobability- purposive sampling. The methods of data collection used Survey Attitudes Toward Statistics (SATS) to measure attitude toward statistics and Statistics Anxiety Rating Scale (STARS) to measure statistics anxiety. Correlational analysis used the Product Moment Pearson with significancy =0.000 (p< 0.05) and correlation coefficient was -0.607. The result of this study was significant with negative correlation between attitudes toward statistics and statistics anxiety, which means if attitudes toward statistics score was high, the statistics anxiety score was low and vice versa.
