Abstract
Logam berat telah digunakan di kehidupan manusia secara berlebihan sehingga berbahaya jika mencemari lingkungan atau masuk ke perairan. Beberapa jenis logam berat yang sering mencemari lingkungan diantaranya Cu, Cd, Zn. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui karakteristik sedimen serta konsentrasi logam berat Cu, Cd dan Zn pada sedimen serta pengukuran parameter pendukung berupa bahan organik total, Eh dan pH sedimen. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 28-29 Januari 2017. Analisa logam berat Cu, Cd, Zn menggunakan metode AAS dan perhitungan indeks pencemaran logam berat menggunakan indeks CF, PLI, I-geo. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah karakteristik sedimen di pesisir perairan barat Selat Bali didominasi oleh pasir (95.785%) yang dapat mempengaruhi rendahnya nilai bahan organik total. Nilai Eh sedimen dan pH sedimen memiliki hasil -37.1 hingga -25.8 dan 7.2 dan 7.6. Logam berat Zn memiliki angka tertinggi dengan rata-rata 18.18 ppm setelah itu Cu (5 ppm) dan Cd (0.77 pm). Pada penggunaan indeks pencemar logam berat, logam berat Cu dan Zn masuk dalam kategori kontaminasi rendah sedangkan logam berat Cd masuk dalam kategori kontaminasi sedang hingga sangat tinggi.
English Abstract
Heavy metals such as Cu, Cd, and Zn have been used in human life excessively which could impact the environment. The aims of this research were to determine the concentrations of Cu, Cd, Zn in the sediment of the western part of Bali Straits, to characterize the sediments and also to analize environmental parameters such as total organic matter, Eh and pH of the sediment. This research was carried out on 28-29 January 2017 during rainy season. Heavy metal concentrations were quantified using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry) and analized using CF, PLI and I-geo pollution indexes. The results showed that the sediments of coastal waters of the western part of Bali Straits was dominated by sand (95.79%), that eventually might influenced the low value of total organic matter. The value of Eh and pH sediments were in the ranged of -37.1 to -25.8 and 7.2 to 7.6 respectively. The highest concentration of heavy metal was found in Zn (18.18 ppm) and followed by Cu (5 ppm) and Cd (0.77 ppm). Based on pollution load indexes, the study area experienced low contamination of Cu and Zn. On the other hands, Cd contaminated the study area in the range of medium to very high contamination.
