Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik Sapi Madrasin dan Sapi Madura berdasarkan sifat kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Lenteng, Pragaan, Ganding Kabupaten Sumenep dari tanggal 15 februari – 15 Maret 2017. Materi yang digunakan 120 Sapi Madrasin dan Sapi Madura. Variabel yang diamati sifat kualitatif , statistic vital dan berat badan. Data dianalisis menggunakan percobaan tersarang (nested). Pengukuran statistik vital memiliki perbedaan yang nyata (P<0,01) antara Sapi Madura dan Sapi Madrasin untuk lingkar dada, panjang badan, bobot badan, sedangkan tinggi badan tidak memiliki perbedaan yang nyata (P>0,05). Karakteristik Sapi Madrasin memiliki warna dominan merah tua, tidak memiliki garis punggung, warna putih pada pantat dan kaki tidak jelas. Dominan moncong berwarna hitam. Jadi disimpulkan bahwa pengukuran statistik vital Sapi Madrasin lebih besar dibandingkan Sapi Madura.

English Abstract

The objectives of this research was to identify the characteristics of Madrasin cattle qualitative and quantitative characters and to identify the characteristics of Madrasin cattle qualitative and quantitative characters in Madura cattle. This research was located in Lenteng, Pragaan, and Ganding Subdistrict of Sumenep Regency from February15th to March 15th 2017. The materials were 120 Madrasin and Madura cattle. The variables observed in this research were qualitative character, vital statistic, and body weight. The data were analyzed by using an unpaired nested. The vital statistic measurement of Madura and Madrasin cattlegavehighly significant difference effect (P<0,01) to Chest Girt, Body Leght, Weaning Weight, however the height of Madura cattlehas no significant difference effect (P>0,05). The qualitative characters of Madrasin cattle were dominant in red body colour, most of them do not have a back line, the white color on the buttock and unclear legs. Most of them were have a black snout and small horn. So, it can be concluded that the vital statistic measurement of Madrasin cattle was larger than Madura cattle.
