Abstract

Club Motor Honda Vario adalah salah satu fenomena kotemporer yang berada ditengah-tengah masyarakat saat ini. Tergabung kedalam club motor dianggap selalu identik dengan kegiatan yang merugikan orang lain dan kegiatan yang cenderung tidak memiliki sisi positif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan (describe) budaya serta interaksi orang-orang yang berada di dalam Club Motor Honda Vario (Vario Club Surabaya) dengan menggunakan pendekatan Etnography. Selain itu, perspektif Ritual milik James Carey serta mahzab Chicago School turut digunakan sebagai kerangka Penelitian. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwasannya Club Motor Honda Vario (Vario Club Surabaya) di dalam budayanya terdapat nilai-nilai yang berusaha dibentuk dan dijaga. Club Motor Honda Vario mengedepankan sisi “humanity value”. Hal ini mematahkan persepsi masyarakat bahwa tidak selamanya riders atau bikers memiliki sifat negatif, arogan, urakan, atau ugal-ugalan. Selain itu, hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan adanya peran ketua sebagai pemimpin club dalam membentuk rasa solidaritas dan loyalitas, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan menerapkan sistem kekeluargaan dalam berorganisasi yang nantinya akan menimbulkan rasa toleransi antar sesama anggota. Pembentukan values ini dipengaruhi oleh campur tangan ketua dan pengurus club, sehingga keutuhan club tetap telindungi dan berjaya sampai sekarang ini

English Abstract

Club Motor Honda Vario is one of the phenomena of kotemporer which is in the midst of today's society. Incorporated into the club motor considered is always synonymous with activities that harm other people and activities that are less likely to have a positive side. This study aims to describe the (describe) culture as well as the interaction of the people who were in the Club Motor Honda Vario (Vario Club Surabaya) using the approach of the Etnography. In addition, the perspective of Ritual belonging to James Carey as well as sectarian Chicago School demonstrate its use as a framework for research. The results of this study indicate that Club Motor Honda Vario (Vario Club Surabaya) in culture there are values that are trying to be formed and maintained. Club Motor Honda Vario side put forward the "humanity value". This broke the public perception that it is not forever riders or bikers have negative, arrogant, urakan, or inconsiderate. In addition, the results of the study also showed the presence of the Chairman's role as leader of the club in forming a sense of solidarity and loyalty, followed by applying a system of family in freedom of association that would later give rise to a sense of tolerance. The formation of values is influenced by the intervention of the Chairman and the Executive Board of the club, so the club remained intact and successful telindungi until now.
