Abstract
Negara sebagai salah satu aktor internasional memiliki beragam kepentingan nasional yang harus dicapai, salah satunya dengan cara mengeluarkan kebijakan luar negeri. Pada era kepemimpinan Presiden Barrack Obama, Amerika Serikat mengeluarkan kebijakan Rebalance to Asia. Melalui kebijakan tersebut, Presiden Obama berusaha mendekatkan diri dengan struktur yang lebih dalam pada ekonomi internasional. Salah satu upaya untuk merealisasikan kebijakan Rebalance to Asia adalah dengan bergabung pada negosiasi Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). TPP merupakan kerjasama perdagangan bebas yang memiliki cakupan luas dan menjadi jalur utama dalam integrasi ekonomi kawasan Asia Pasifik. Meskipun TPP memiliki posisi strategis dalam meningkatkan perekonomian Amerika Serikat, di sisi lain TPP juga mendapat protes dari berbagai pihak. Namun, protes tersebut tidak menghentikan Presiden Obama untuk tetap ikut serta dalam negosiasi TPP. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep kepentingan nasional milik K.J Holsti untuk melihat kepentingan Amerika Serikat dalam negosiasi TPP.
English Abstract
State as one of the international actors has various national interests that must be achieved, such as by issuing foreign policy. In the era of President Barack Obama's leadership, the United States made "Rebalance to Asia" policy. Through the policy, President Obama was trying to tie to the international economy structure. One of the efforts to realize "Rebalance to Asia" policy was by joining the negotiations of Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). TPP is a free trade cooperation that becomes the main route in the economic integration of the Asia Pacific region and has a wide range. Although TPP had a strategic position in improving the United States' economy, on the other hand TPP also received protests from various parties. However, the protest did not stop President Obama from participating in the negotiations of TPP. This research uses K.J Holsti's national interest concept to look at US interests in the negotiations of TPP.
