Hitori, Muhammad (2017) Identifikasi Kadar P2O5 Total Pada Beberapa Pupuk Fosfor Di Malang. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
The existing fertilizers on the market today are mostly new types of fertilizers from technological engineering whose quality requirements and effectiveness testing have not been proven (Balittanah, 2004). The soaring price of fertilizer followed by the soaring demand at the beginning of the planting season, often circulating alternative fertilizers that are unlikely to be through the quality testing of fertilizer. According to Sianturi (2008) fertilizer fraud occurs in the distribution chain before it reach to the consumers and may be done by mixing similar materials. This study aims to determine the physical characteristics of some phosphorus fertilizers sold in the city and district of Malang and to understand the suitability of total P2O5 content of the analysis results to the label of fertilizer packaging. The research was conducted from April until May 2015. The samples of P fertilizer was from some fertilizer stores in the city and district of Malang. Analysis of total P2O5 content is done in Testing Laboratory of Crops Research Institute for Beans and Tubers (BALITKABI). The research steps including: 1) Determination of research location, 2.) Survey preparation, 3.) Sampling of fertilizer, 4) Observation of physical characteristics of fertilizer, 5) Measurement of water content in fertilizer, 6) Laboratory analysis of total P2O5 content in fertilizers, 7) The Observation variables are fertilizer physical observation for shape, color, smell and taste, analysis of water content and analysis of total P2O5 content, 8) Calculation of observation criteria for each variable of physical characteristic fertilizer selected by all respondents at each observation location using percentage analysis. The result of observation in physical characteristic of fertilizer shows that there are difference of color, smell and taste of fertilizers in one trademark of fertilizer between observation location in city and district of Malang and total P2O5 content of laboratory analysis results showed none of the fertilizer samples corresponding to the packaging label.
