Abstract

Jamur tiram putih atau biasa disebut shimeji atau oyster mushroom berasal dari kelas Basidiomycetes dan genus Pleurotus. Jamur ini mudah tumbuh di berbagai media tanam sehingga dapat menjadi pertimbangan untuk meningkatkan produksi jamur tiram melalui komposisi media tanam yang sesuai. Pada pembuatan media tanam jamur tiram, pengomposan penting dilakukan untuk membuat media tanam terurai menjadi senyawa yang lebih sederhana sehingga mudah dicerna oleh jamur dalam pertumbuhannya. Modifikasi dan inovasi media tanam jamur dapat dilakukan dengan menambahkan EM4 (Effective Microorganism) saat pengomposan media tanam. Adanya EM4 dapat mempercepat proses pengomposan melalui fermentasi dan dekomposisi bahan baku kompos. Selain itu, jamur tiram dapat dipanen beberapa kali. Periode panen diduga memilki pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan jamur tiram. Hasil panen pada setiap periode panen memiliki kaitan dengan ketersediaan nutrisi pada media tanam dalam menunjang pertumbuhan jamur tiram.Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh volume EM4 dan periode panen terhadap pertumbuhan jamur tiram putih (Pleurotus ostreatus) dan mengetahui volume EM4 yang memberikan pertumbuhan terbaik pada jamur tiram (Pleurotus ostreatus). Rancangan penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) tersarang dimana faktor utama adalah perbedaan volume EM4 dan faktor tersarang yaitu periode panen dari masing-masing media tanam. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak tiga ulangan. Pengamatan dilakukan selama empat kali pemanenan jamur tiram putih. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan EM4 (Effective microorganism) pada media tanam jamur tiram tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap berat basah, jumlah tubuh buah, diameter tudung, dan umur panen jamur tiram. Terdapat pengaruh nyata antar periode panen (faktor tersarang) pada berat basah dan umur panen jamur tiram. Sedangkan pada jumlah tubuh buah dan diameter tudung tidak terdapat pengaruh nyata antar periode panen. Penambahan EM4 (Effective microorganism) pada media tanam jamur tiram tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap pertumbuhan jamur tiram, sehingga volume EM4 terbaik yang ditambahkan kedalam media tanam adalah 10 ml. Hal ini karena pemberian volume 10 ml dinilai lebih ekonomis dibandingkan dengan volume 15 ml dan 20 ml.

English Abstract

Oyster mushroom, or commonly called shimeji, is from Basidiomycetesclass and Pleurotusgenus. This fungus is easy to grow in various growing media, so it can be a consideration to increase the production of oyster mushrooms through the composition of the appropriate growing media. In the making of oyster mushroom growing media, composting is important to do to make decomposed growing media to be a simpler compound, so it is easily digested by the fungus in its growth. Modification and innovation of mushroom growing media can be done by adding EM4(Effective Microorganism)when composting growing media. The existence of EM4 can faster the composting process through fermentation and decomposition of compost raw materials. In addition, oyster mushrooms can be harvested several times. The harvest period is predicted to have an effect on the growth of oyster mushroom. The yields on each harvest period have a relation to the availability of nutrients in growing media to support oyster mushroom growth. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of EM4 volume and harvest period on the growth of oyster mushroom (Pleurotusostreatus) and to know the EM4 volume that gives the best growth in oyster mushroom (Pleurotusostreatus). The research design used a complete randomized design (RAL) where the main factor is the difference between EM4 volume and the nested factor that is the harvest period of each growing medium. This study was conducted as many as three replications. Observation was made during four times of oyster mushroom harvesting. The results showed that the addition of EM4 (Effective Microorganism) on oyster mushroom growing media did not give significant effect to wet weight, fruit body number, hood diameter, and oyster mushroom harvest age.There is a tangible influence between harvest periods (nested factors) on wet weight and harvest age of oyster mushroom. While the number of fruit body and diameter of the hood did not have tangible effect between the harvest periods. On the other hand, the addition of EM4 (Effective Microorganism) on oyster mushroom growing media did not give a significant effect toits growth. Therefore, the best EM4 volume added to growing media was 10 ml. This is because giving 10 ml volume is considered more economical compared to giving 15 ml and 20 ml volume.
