Abstract

Pada penelitian ini telah dibuat suatu desain sistem instrumentasi untuk dilakukan monitoring arus listrik proses charging pada perangkat elektronik berbaterai. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk monitoring arus listrik ketika proses charging terutama setelah kondisi baterai penuh. Charging merupakan suatu proses pengisian muatan-muatan dengan mengalirkan arus listrik pada baterai dan apabila tidak dimonitor dapat menyebabkan overcharging. Overcharging merupakan keadaan dimana proses charging terus dilakukan walaupun kondisi baterai sudah penuh. Hal tersebut dapat memberikan dampak yang buruk pada kualitas baterai perangkat elektronik. Digunakan beberapa komponen penting dalam penelitian ini diantaranya adalah Mikrokontroler Arduino Mega 2560 dan Sensor Arus WCS2702. Bahan uji yang digunakan diantaranya adalah laptop, handphone/smartphone, power bank, raket nyamuk dan mainan remote control. Monitoring proses charging tiap bahan uji dilakukan dalam waktu ± 20 jam dan hasil monitoring akan diolah menjadi grafik dengan Microsoft Excel. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa setelah kondisi baterai penuh masih ada arus yang mengalir pada waktu tertentu dengan besar yang berbeda-beda untuk tiap bahan uji.

English Abstract

Instrumentation system design of monitoring charging process for electronic devices with battery has been made in this research. The purpose of this research is to monitor electric current when charging process occurs, especially after battery is full. Charging is a filling process of charges by flowing electric current to battery and the process will cause overcharging if there is no monitoring. Overcharging is a condition where charging process still be continued though the battery is full. Those can give damages to battery quality of electronic devices. Key components used in this research are Microcontroller Arduino Mega 2560 and Current Sensor WCS2702. Objects used for the research include laptop, handphone/smartphone, power bank, mosquito swatter, dan remote control toy. Monitoring charging process on each object was conducted within approximately 20 hours and the result was processed in Microsoft Excel as a graph. The research result indicates that electric current still flows at certain time with different amount of electric current on each object after the battery is full.
