Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang peran pola asuh demokratis terhadap empati yang dimoderasi oleh jenis kelamin pada remaja. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan stratified random proportional sampling dengan sampel sebesar 78 siswa. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah skala pola asuh demokratis dengan aspek pola asuh dari Baumrind (Lestari, 2012) dan skala empati dari aspek-aspek empati milik Davis (1983) yang disusun sendiri oleh peneliti. Analisis data menggunakan teknik simple moderation milik Hayes (2016). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pola asuh demokratis memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap empati pada remaja. Adanya nilai signifikan (p < 0,05) pada interaksi antara pola asuh demokratis, jenis kelamin dan empati menunjukkan bahwa jenis kelamin dapat menjadi variabel moderator.
English Abstract
This paper reviewed the role of democratic parenting to empathy moderated by gender in adolescents. Sample collection technique was using stratified random proportional sampling with sample of 78 adolescents. The scale using democratic parenting scale by parenting aspects from Baumrind (Lestari, 2012) and empathy scale from Davis empathy aspects (1983) that made by researchers. Data analysis was using simple moderation techniques by Hayes (2016). Based on this study, it can be concluded that democratic parenting has significant effect toward adolescents empathy. Significant value (p < 0,05) that comes out from the interaction of democratic parenting, gender, and empathy showed that gender can be used as moderator variable.
