Abstract
Pendidikan memiliki peran yang sangat penting untuk memajukan pembangunan suatu negara. Pendidikan mempunyai peran untuk mengembangkan diri dan kemampuan agar memiliki sumber daya manusia yang handal, profesional dan mandiri. Pendidikan sebagai sarana pengembangan sumber daya manusia salah satunya melalui Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK). Lulusan SMK memiliki potensi untuk melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi, dapat mengembangkan diri dan menciptakan sumber daya manusia yang lebih berkualitas. Regresi logistik merupakan metode statistika yang dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pilihan siswa SMK untuk melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi. Peubah respon pada pilihan untuk melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi terdiri dari tiga kategori, sehingga metode yang digunakan adalah regresi logistik multinomial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pilihan siswa SMK di Kota Malang melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tiga dari sepuluh faktor yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, berpengaruh terhadap pilihan siswa SMK di Kota Malang melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi yaitu banyaknya tanggungan anggota keluarga, status sekolah dan pendapatan orangtua.
English Abstract
Education has a very important role to advance the development of a country. Education has a role to develop themselves and the ability of human resources in order to have a reliable, professional and independent. Education as a means of human resources development one through Vocational secondary school (SMK). SMK graduates have the potential to continue to College, can develop themselves and create a more human resource quality. Logistic regression is a statistical method that can be used to find out the factors that influence the choice of SMK students for further study to the College. Response variables on options for further study to the College consists of three categories, so that the method used is the multinomial logistic regression. This research aims to know the factors that affect the choice of SMK students in Malang to continue studies into college. The research results showed that three of the ten factors are used in this research, the effect on the student's choice of SMK in Malang continue studies into college i.e. number of dependents, school status and parental income.
