Herlina, - (2017) Analisis Diskriminan Dalam Menentukan Kategori Berat Lahir Bayi Berdasarkan Faktor Internal Dan Eksternal (Studi Di Kecamatan Tajinan Januari – Desember 2016. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Discriminant analysis is a statistical method used to group certain groups with predictors in the form of quantitative data and responses in the form of qualitative data. In this study discriminant analysis is used to determine the birth weight category of infants with differentiators in the form of internal and external factors. Infant birth weight is the first indicator that can be measured and seen directly by parents to estimate their child's development in the future. Low birthweight babies will harm the baby can even result in death in infants so that as much as possible is done prevention so that babies born have normal birth weight. Infant birth weight is influenced by two factors: internal factors and external factors. In this study, ten predictors were used to differentiate the birth weight categories of infants: maternal age, father's age, maternal weight, family income, birth spacing, number of children, maternal education, father's education, consultation to the doctor or midwife during pregnancy, and Maternal blood pressure. In this study the baby's birth weight is divided into three categories: <2.5 kg, 2.5-3.0 kg, and> 3 kg. The results showed that affecting birth weight were mother's age, father's age, mother's weight, number of children, duration of mother's education, and number of consultation to doctor or midwife during pregnancy. While the family income, the length of father's education, the distance of pregnancy, and maternal blood pressure has no effect on the birth weight of the baby. Based on the 10 predictors used by the researchers, it was found that the accuracy of the classification of 64.8% of the diversity can be explained by the discriminant function generated while 35.2% is explained by other factors.
