Abstract
Reaksi Hunsdiecker asam (E)-3-(furan-2-il) akrilik telah dilakukan menggunakan katalis trietilamin dan reagen NBS. Variasi pelarut dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepolaran pelarut terhadap reaksi Hunsdiecker. Reaksi dengan pelarut diklorometana memiliki efektifitas lebih tinggi daripada asetonitril:air (97:3 v/v). Berdasarkan spektra FTIR, produk yang terbentuk diprediksikan sebagai asam 3- bromo-3(furan-2-il) propanoat yang diperkuat oleh vibrasi CBr 749,09 cm-1 dan COOH 3441,53-2785,78 cm-1. Variasi waktu reaksi juga dilakukan untuk mendeteksi perubahan produk hasil reaksi. Reaksi selama 1440 menit (24 jam) menunjukkan terbentuknya produk dekarboksilasi dengan hilangnya vibrasi COOH dan munculnya vibrasi regang CH sp3 pada 2924,65 cm-1. Produk yang diusulkan pada reaksi Hunsdiecker selama 24 jam adalah 2-etilfuran.
English Abstract
Hunsdiecker reaction has been carried out on (E)-3-(furan-2-yl) acrylic acid using triethylamine as catalyst and NBS. The solvent was modified from nonpolar to polar in order to investigate the effect of solvent on Hunsdiecker reaction. The reaction using dichloromethane resulted in higher efficiency than acetonitrile: water (97:3 v/v). Based on FTIR analysis, the reaction gives 3-Bromo- 3(furan-2-il) propanoic acid by the observed CBr 749,09 cm-1 and COOH 3441,53-2785,78 cm-1 stretching. The longer reaction time was conducted to investigate the changing of the product. The reaction for 1440 minutes (24 hours) showed the formation of decarboxylation product since stretching of COOH is vanished and replaced by CH sp3 stretching at 2924,65 cm-1. Here, the predicted product of the reaction at 24 h should be 2-ethyl furan.
