Abstract

Petani dan operator peralatan di Puslit Gula PTPN X sering mengeluhkan tentang tingkat keausan alat pemecah seresah dan pengeprasan tebu yang tinggi di daerah pertanian lahan kering. Alat pemecah seresah dan pengepras tebu yang mereka gunakan adalah Shaktiman Rotary Mulcher yang berasal dari India. Mereka dihadapkan pada hilangnya waktu dan biaya penggantian untuk mengganti komponen Shaktiman Rotary Mulcher. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan teknik peningkatan nilai kekerasan pisau Shaktiman Rotary Mulcher dengan proses hardfacing dengan paduan HV-90 dan teknik pengelasan Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) lalu membandingkan nilai kekerasannya dengan pisau Shaktiman Rotary Mulcher tanpa proses hardfacing dan melakukan pengujian di lapangan untuk mengetahui pengaruh nilai kekerasan dengan ketahanan aus pisau Shaktiman Rotary Mulcher sesudah dan sebelum proses hardfacing. Pada penelitian ini spesimen adalah mata pisau Shaktiman Rotary Mulcher. Spesimen yang lain diberikan perlakuan yaitu hardfacing menggunakan bahan HV-90 dan teknik pengelasan Shielded Metal Arc , kemudian dilakukan pengujian kekerasan dan keausan. Pengujian yang sama juga dilakukan pada spesimen asli. Hasil pengujian kekerasan menunjukkan spesimen yang telah di hardfacing mempunyai nilai kekerasan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan spesimen non hardfacing. Hasil pengujian keausan menunjukkan pisau hardfacing pengurangan berat dan luasnya lebih tinggi dibandingkan pisau non hardfacing. Hasil perhitungan laju keausan menunjukkan nilai laju keausan pisau hardfacing lebih tinggi dibandingkan pisau non hardfacing. Hasli perhitungan kecepatan putar pisau menunjukkan semakin banyak jumlah putaran maka semakin tinggi pula kehilangan luas dan berat pada pisau hardfacing dan non hardfacing. Mata pisau yang telah mengalami proses hardfacing mempunyai kehilangan bentuk yang lebih besar bila dibandingkan dengan pisau non hardfacing hal ini mungkin disebabkan mata pisau hardfacing ada penambahan partikel jadi untuk luasan yang sama maka akan memiliki berat yang lebih. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah Teknik peningkatan nilai kekerasan pisau dengan proses hardfacing meningkatkan nilai kekerasan mata pisau. Pengujian ketahanan aus di lahan berpasir bekas tanaman tebu pisau hardfacing memiliki nilai keausan lebih tinggi dibandingkan nilai keausan pisau non hardfacing. Semakin banyak putaran menyebabkan mata pisau mengalami banyak gesekan sehingga menyebabkan kehilangan luas dan berat yang cukup tinggi.

English Abstract

Farmers and equipment operators at the Sugar Center of PTPN X often complain about the high wear rates of litter and sugar cane breaking tools in dryland farming areas. The breakers of litter and sugar cane they used were Shaktiman Rotary Mulcher from India. They are faced with the loss of time and replacement costs to replace the Rotary Mulcher Shaktiman component. The purpose of this research is to get technique of increasing hardness of Shaktiman Rotary Mulcher blade with hardfacing process with HV-90 alloy and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) welding technique and compare hardness value with Shaktiman Rotary Mulcher blade without hardfacing process and doing field test To determine the effect of hardness value with wear resistance of Shaktiman Rotary Mulcher blade after and before hardfacing process. In this study the specimens were Shaktiman Rotary Mulcher's blade. Other specimens were given treatment ie hardfacing using HV-90 material and welding technique Shielded Metal Arc, then tested the hardness and wear and tear. The same test was also performed on the original specimen. The results of hardness testing showed that hardfacing specimens had higher hardness values than non-hardfacing specimens. The wear test results show that the hardfacing blade is reduced in weight and the extent is higher than the non-hardfacing blade. The results of the wear rate calculation show the rate of wear rate of hardfacing blades higher than non-hardfacing blades. The calculation results of the rotation speed of the blade shows the more the number of turns the higher the loss of area and weight on the hardfacing blades and non hardfacing. The blades that have undergone a hardfacing process have a larger shape loss when compared with a non hardfacing blade this may be due to hardfacing blades there is addition of particles so for the same area it will have more weight. The conclusion in this research is technique of increasing hardness of knife hardness by hardfacing process increase hardness value of blade. Testing of wear resistance in the sandy soil of former hardfacing blade cane has higher wear value than non-hardfacing blade wear. The more rounds cause the blades to experience a lot of friction resulting in a considerable loss of area and weight.
