English Abstract
This study discussed the prevention of forest destruction in Pasuruan Regency done by Plantation and Forestry Department and Police Sector of Kejayan. This study aimed at: 1) investigating and analyzing the prevention of forest destruction in Pasuruan Regency by Plantation and Forestry Department and Police Sector of Kejayan, 2) investigating and analyzing problems encountered by Plantation and Forestry Department and Police Sector of Kejayan in handling forest destruction in Pasuruan regency, 3) investigating and analyzing the solutions offered by Plantation and Forestry Department and Police Sector of Kejayan in handling the case of forest destruction in Pasuruan Regency. This study was empirical juridical which provided solutions to the problem based on the existing regulation and related it with reality in society. The results of the study show that 1) the effort in preventing forest destruction and illegal logging from occuring was by doing patrol and approach to the society to give understanding on the impact of illegal logging. 2) the obstacles encountered in preventing forest destruction in Pasuruan Regency were geographic condition and lack of personnel supervising the forest. 3) in overcoming the obstacles, objectives such as the realization of forest protection, land conservation, and forest conservation must be formulated.
