Abstract
Penyakit gigi dan mulut yang paling banyak diderita penduduk di Indonesia adalah karies gigi Penyuluhan kesehatan adalah penambahan pengetahuan seseorang dengan tujuan mengubah atau mempengaruhi perilaku manusia untuk ningkatkan kesadaran akan nilai kesehatan sehingga dengan sadar mau mengubah perilaku sehat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mngetahui perbedaan efektivitas antara pemberian penyuluhan melalui media panggung boneka dengan permainan pesan berantai untuk peningkatan pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada komunitas Save Street Child Malang. Penelitian ini bersifat studi true eksperimental dengan metode pre-test dan post-test yang dilakukan terhadap anak jalanan di komunitas Save Street Child Malang.Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan metode simple random sampling.Berdasarkan hasil uji t independen diperoleh nilai signifikansi pada pre-test panggung boneka dan permainan pesan berantai sebesar 0.27 (lebih besar dari nilai α)dan post-test panggung boneka dan permainan pesan berantai sebesar 0.075 (lebih besar dari nilai a) sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan tingkat pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut sesudah penyuluhan dengan media panggung boneka dan permainan pesan berantai terhadap anak jalanan usia 8-14 tahun di Komunitas Save Street Child Malang.
English Abstract
Oral and dental diseases that oftenly suffered by Indonesian people are dental caries. Health counseling is a program that aimed to increase the knowledge to change or to affect human behavior. The target that aimed by this program is to increase the value of health awareness, so the people will, consciously, improving their behavior to be more healthy. Health counseling could be done by utilizing various assisting devices, media, and methods. The objective of this research is to reveal the effectivity differences between the counseling that conducted by using puppet show media and chain messages games in order to increase the dental and oral health knowledge in the Save Street Child Malang community. This research is a true experimental study with a pre-test and post-test methods that is applicated to the street or homeless children in Save Street Child Malang community. The sampling technique used in this study is the simple random sampling. Based on the result of the independent test of t, where the signification value acquired in the pre-test of puppet show and chain messages game is 0.27 (bigger than the value of α) and 0.075 (also bigger than the value of α)for the post-test of puppet show and chain messages game, it can be concluded that there are no dental and oral health knowledge level differences after the puppet show and chain messages games are conducted to the street children with the age range of 8-14 years old in the Save Street Child Malang community
