English Abstract
Abstract - The utilization of bamboo spiny lobsters (P. versicolor) needs to be managed on an ongoing basis so that harvesting does not exceed the sustainable yield. The aim of the study is Explore the biology parameters of bamboo spiny lobsters in Spermode Island, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Data were collected in the form of carapace length (cm) and weight (g) of the catch.Three types ofspiny lobsterswere found: 403 pearl spiny lobsters (P. ornatus) (31.29% of the catch), 704 bamboo spiny lobsters (P. versicolor) (48.84% of the catch), and 256 Batik spiny lobsters (P. longipes) (19.88% of the catch). The bamboo spiny lobster had a sex ratio of males to females of 1.48:1. The length-weight relationship in bamboo spiny lobsters showed negative allometric growth and an r2 value close to 1, which means that the growth in length heavily influences overall growth. The percentage of Gonad Maturity Level (GML) in bamboo spiny lobsterswas 79% immature gonads, 17% mature gonads, 4% ripe gonads and 0% spent gonads. The length of the first ripe gonads (Lm) inmales and females was 14.44 cm and 14.62 cm respectively. The GML peak in males and females were not the same, with males usually maturing earlier than females. The average length of the bamboo spiny lobsters (Lc) bamboo spiny lobster (P. versicolor) was 18.92 cm. As the fishing gear used involves gill nets, this parameter is very important. The average length of carapace was 10.17 cm, which this means that on average length class between 4.0-10 cm is the length average that have not yet entered the size of exploitation.
