Abstract

Perusahaan Pembuat Alat Memasak yang berlokasi di Sidoarjo memiliki dua gudang material. Saat ini, gudang material A perusahaan pembuat alat memasak belum menerapkan sistem penyimpanan yang baik. Material yang bersifat fast moving tidak diletakkan dekat dengan I/O point. Permasalahan yang kedua yaitu lebar aisle yang terlalu kecil menyebabkan forklift tidak dapat bermanuver dengan baik. Saat ini, lebar aisle hanya berukuran 1,5 m. Permasalah yang ketiga yaitu berdasarkan data jumlah stok akhir bulan tahun 2016, jumlah stok akhir material melebihi kapasitas material yang dapat ditampung oleh gudang dengan persentase lebih terbesar 62,63% dan terkecil 0,67%. Material berlebih disimpan oleh perusahaan di gudang material B yang lokasinya lebih jauh dari gudang material A. Dari ketiga permasalahan tersebut, mengakibatkan tingkat responsibilitas pelayanan gudang material menjadi rendah. Kebijakan penyimpanan yang digunakan dalam membuat layout perbaikan yaitu Dedicated Storage dan Class Based Storage. Metode Class Based Storage yang digunakan terdiri dari tipe Within Aisle dan Across Aisle. Ketiga layout tersebut dibandingkan dalam tiga parameter, yaitu jarak, waktu dan ongkos material handling. Storage facility yang diusulkan yaitu racking system yang telah diberi label area penyimpanan. Rak yang digunakan adalah selective racks. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data yang dilakukan, perancangan tata letak gudang menghasilkan alternatif terpilih yaitu dengan menggunakan metode Class Based Storage Across Aisle dengan jarak material handling 432.419,52 meter, waktu perpindahan selama 1.417,24 jam, serta ongkos material handling Rp 81,48 per meter. Ketiga nilai parameter tersebut lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan dua layout alternatif yang lain serta layout saat ini. Penerapan storage facility berupa rack tujuh level dengan spesifikasi ukuran 300 x 140 x 80 cm setiap rack, tinggi keseluruhan 5,6 meter dan maximum weighload 2 ton. Penerapan kebijakan penyimpanan dan penempatan material sesuai dengan usulan dapat meningkatkan responsibilitas gudang dari segi jarak, waktu dan ongkos material handling serta memudahkan aktivitas penempatan dan pengambilan material.

English Abstract

The Cooking Equipment Manufacturer which is located in Sidoarjo has two warehouses to storage their materials. Currently, warehouse A of Cooking Equipment Manufacturer has not yet implemented a good storage system. The fast moving material is not closed to the I / O point. The second problem is the aisle width which is only 1.5 m is consider too narrow that cause the forklift can not do maneuver properly. The third problem is based on the data of total stock in the end of the month of 2016, the final stock of material amount exceeds the material capacity that can be accommodated by the warehouse with the largest percentage of 62.63% and the smallest is 0.67%. The excess material is stored in the warehouse B located far from the warehouse A which cause the increase of material handling cost. The problems, lead to low satisfaction of warehouse services. The storage policies proposed in creating layout to improve warehouse A operations were dedicated storage and class based storage. The class based storage method devided into two types of approach, which were the type within aisle and across aisle. There were- three layouts were constructed. Furthermore, the three alternative layouts were compared in three parameters, namely distance, time and material handling cost. Moreover, this study proposed a racking system support the storage facility.. The shelves used were selective racks. The Comparison of three constructed layouts showed that a class based storage method across aisle gave the best layout in the three parameters, which were 432.419.52 meters, for the distance of material handling, 1,417.24 hours of displacement time, and Rp 81.48 per meter for material handling cost. The third parameter value is lower than the other two alternative layouts as well as the current layout. The other result of the study was the application of storage facility using seven level rack with specification size 300 x 140 x 80 cm for each level. The overall height of rack was 5,6 meter and 2 tons of maximum weightload. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of proposed storage policy and placement of materials will be able to improve the warehouse's responsiveness in terms of distance, time and material handling costs and simplify the activity of material placement and retrieval.
