Abstract

Karya sastra sering digunakan oleh orang-orang sebagai hiburan setelah mereka melakukan aktivitasnya, salah satunya adalah komedi. Komedi cenderung bersifat menyenangkan dan merayakan sesuatu, menyelesaikan permasalahan yang ada dalam pertunjukannya. Salah satu genre komedi adalah Black Comedy, yang membuat lelucon dan situasi yang mengganggu atau menyampaikan lelucon yang tabu. South Park adalah salah satu pertunjukan animasi yang berisi black comedy yang diciptakan dari beberapa potongan kertas. Strukturalisme diterapkan untuk mengungkap bagaimana pencipta South Park menyusun lelucon mereka dalam serial kartunnya. Strukturalis percaya bahwa sebuah kenyataan tidak terbentuk dari hal-hal yang terpisah, namun melihatnya sebagai keseluruhan yang memiliki hubungan satu sama lain dan membentuk satu tema. Pada akhirnya, Penulis bermaksud menganalisa struktur black comedy melalui dialog dan pengambilan gambar pada serial kartun tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa South Park selalu megikuti struktur yang sama, yaitu adanya setup dan punchline. Tak ada di beberapa episode untuk mengulang atau menambahkan lebih banyak tawa pada penonton. Disebut black comedy pada serial kartun ini karena punchline di serial kartun South Park Season 18 membahas hal-hal tabu seperti bagian tubuh tertentu dan orientasi gender.

English Abstract

Literary works are used by people as entertainment after they do their daily activities, one of them is comedy. Comedy tends to be happy and celebration, manage to resolve some problems that exist in the play. One of the genres of comedy is Black Comedy, that makes jokes and disturbing situations or about taboo discussion. South Park is one of the show that containing Black Comedy that constructed from cut outs paper. Structuralism is applied to reveal how the creators of South Park structured jokes and satires in this cartoon series. Structuralist believe that reality is not formed from separated things, but as a whole that have relations to each other that form a single theme. Eventually, the author intends to analyze the strcture of the black comedy through dialogues and screen shots in the cartoon series. The result of this study reveals that South Park always follow the same structure, which are setup and punchline. Tags exist in several episodes to repeate or add more laugh to the audiences. What makes the jokes become black on this cartoon series is because the punchlines itself contains some taboo jokes such as genitals and gender orientation.
