Abstract
Analisis Wacana Kritis (AWK) memperhatikan bagaimana praktek social dan praktek linguistik saling berhubungan satu sama lain. Melalui wacana, orangorang mempunyai kendali untuk mendominasi yang lain. Pada kasus ini, media masa kepada pembacanya. Dalam menyampaikan informasi terbarunya media mempunyai ideologinya sendiri dalam membuat sebuah berita. Studi ini di lakukan untuk menemukan bagaimana bahasa kiasan membangun makna dalam artikel LGBT pada surat kabar Jakarta Post, dan untuk menginvestigasi ideology apa yang di bentuk oleh Surat kabar online Jakarta Post tentang artikel-artikel LGBT. Penulis menggunakan model tiga dimensi Fairclough, yaitu, analisis teks, praktek diskursif dan praktek sosial budaya, Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif untuk menganalisis data. Terdapat dua macam data yang di analisis, yaitu, bahasa kiasan pada artikel LGBT di surat kabar online Jakarta Post dan komentar para pembaca terhadap artikel-artikel LGBT. Tujuan penemun interpretasi pembaca adalah untuk menyimpulkan ideology yang di bentuk oleh surat kabar online Jakarta Post mengenai artikel-artikel LGBT Untuk membatasi data, penulis telah memilih artikel-artikel yang di terbitkan pada 1, 2, 22 Agustus 2016. Pada studi ini, penulis menemukan enam macam bahasa kiasan, yaitu, 3 eufemisme , 2 sinekdok , 1 disfemisme , 2 metonimia , 1 hiperbola dan 2 matafora. Selanjutnya, penulis menemukan komentar dari para pembaca terhadap artikelartikel mengenai LGBT. Dari sebelas komentar yang di pilih, sembilan dari mereka mendukung keberadaan LGBT sedangan dua dari mereka kontra. Dapat di simpulkan, ideologi yang di bentuk oleh surat kabar online Jakarta Post adalah berhasil. Jakarta post mencoba menggiring pembacanya untuk lebih menghargai keberadaan LGBT sebagai kaum minoritas dan orang-orang LGBT mempunyai hak-hak yang sama dengan warga Negara lainya. Penulis menyarankan untuk peneliti selanjutnya yang ingin melakukan studi yang sejenis. Peneliti dapat menggunakan tiga dimensi modal Fairclough dengan melalakukan wawancara mendalam untuk menginvetigasi interpretasi pembaca.
English Abstract
Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) concerns on how the social practice and linguistic practice are related to each other. Through the discourse, people have their power to dominate others. In this case, mass media to its reader. In delivering the newest information mass media has their own ideology in making their news. This study is conducted to find out how the figurative languages construct the meaning in LGBT articles in the Jakarta Post online newspaper and also to investigate what is the ideology constructed by the Jakarta Post online newspaper in LGBT articles. The writer uses Fairclough’s three dimensional model of CDA that consists of textual analysis, discursive practice and sociocultural practice. This study uses qualitative approach to analyze the data. There are two kinds of data that have been analyzed, those are the figurative languages in LGBT articles in the Jakarta post online newspapers and the readers’ comments toward the LGBT Articles. The aim of finding readers’ interpretation is to conclude the ideology shaped by the Jakarta Post online newspaper. To limit the data, the writer has chosen the articles which were posted on 1st, 2nd, 22nd August 2016 In this study, the writer finds six types of figurative languages which are euphemism (3 data), synecdoche (2 data), dysphemism (1 datum), metonymy (2 data) data, hyperbole (1 datum), and metaphor (2 data). Furthermore, the writer finds the readers’ interpretation toward LGBT articles. Out of the eleven comments, nine of them are pro to the existence of LGBT while the other two are contra. Therefore, it can be concluded that the ideology being constructed by the Jakarta Post in LGBT articles is successful. The Jakarta Post leads its readers for giving more respect to the existence of LGBT as the minor community and LGBT people have rights equally with other citizens. The writer suggests for the next researchers who want to conduct a similar study to use the three dimensional model of Fairclough by conducting a depth interview in the level of discursive practice in order to figure out the readers’ interpretation.
