Abstract
Dalam proses penerjemahan, penerjemah mungkin menghadapi kesulitan seperti menemukan padanan kata terdekat dengan bahasa target (TL), Untuk membantu penerjemah menemukan padanan kata terbaik di TL, serta dapat dengan mudah dipahami oleh pembaca TL, Para ahli Penerjemah telah merancang berbagai prosedur untuk menangani berbagai jenis teks dalam terjemahan, penerjemah dapat menggunakan berbagai prosedur yang berbeda sesuai dengan aspek kontekstual dari teks sumber dan teks target. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui prosedur penerjemahan yang dilakukan oleh penerjemah di Subtitle film Straight Outta Compton. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dan desain penelitian ini adalah analisis isi atau dokumen karena berfokuskan pada analisis dan identifikasi prosedur penerjemahan yang diterapkan pada subtitle film Straight outta Compton, data dianalisis dengan teori Translation Procedure (1988) yang digagas Peter Newmark. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prosedur yang diterapkan oleh penerjemah yang terlibat adalah: Ekspansi, Pengurangan, Pergeseran atau Transposisi, Padanan Budaya, Padanan Deskriptif, Padanan Fungsional, Kompensasi, Transferensi, Naturalisasi, parafrase, Terjemahan Langusng , Prosedur Lain: Setara, Pasangan . Di antara semua prosedur yang dipandu oleh Prosedur Penerjemahan Newmark, hanya empat prosedur yang tidak diterapkan dalam penelitian ini yaitu: Analisis komponen, Sinonim, Prosedur Lain: Adaptasi, Penerjemahan resmi dan Label penerjemahan Dari hasil penelitian peneliti menyarankan agar peneliti selanjutnya dapat mengokohkan penelitian ini dengan menganalisa prosedur penerjemahan yang diterapkan pada objek tertentu SL yang berisi berbagai dialek, dan juga dapat memperluas ruang lingkup penelitian ini dengan analisis yang lebih dalam untuk menemukan hal hal yang tidak teridentifikasi di dokumen ini.
English Abstract
In the process of translation, a translator may be faced with difficulties such as finding the closest natural equivalent in the target language (TL). In order to help the translator finding the best equivalent in TL also it is can easily understand by the TL readership, Translation experts have devised various procedures to deal with different types of texts in translation, translator may use a variety of procedures which differ according to the contextual aspects of both the source text and the target text. This study is carried out to reveal the translation procedure applied by the translator in the Subtitle Straight Outta Compton Movie.this study was a qualitative one and the design of this study was content or document analysis since it focuses on analyzing and identifying the translation procedure applied in the subtitle “Straight Outta Compton” Movie, the data are analyzed by the theory proposed Peter Newmark’s Translation Procedure (1988). The result of the study revealed that the procedure applied by translator involved: Expansion, Reduction, Shift or Transposition, Cultural Equivalent, Descriptive Equivalent, Functional Equivalent, Compensation, Transference, Naturalization, paraphrase, Through Translation, Other Procedure: Equivalent, Couplets. Among all procedure proposed by Newmark’s Translation Procedure, only four procedures were not applied in the study namely: Componental analysis, Synonym, Other Procedure: Adaptation, Recognized Translation and translation Label. From the result of the study researcher suggest for the next researcher can broaden this study by analyzing Translation procedure in applied in particular object SL that contains various dialects, and can also broaden the scope of this study with a deeper analysis to find the unidentified in this study
