Abstract
Manusia merupakan bagian penting dari alam yang saling membutuhkan, namun dari berbagai fenomena yang hari ini terjadi terdapat dikotomi diantara keduanya. Berbagai alasan seperti pemenuhan kebutuhan ekonomi, seringkali menjadikan manusia abai terhadap alamnya, sehingga sikap manusia kepada alam cenderung kontradiktif. Penulis merasakan sendiri kesenjangan dan ketidakselarasan diantara keduanya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut dan pengalaman subjektif penulis, timbul kegelisahan yang dituangkan dalam karya fotografi hitam putih. Oleh karena itu penulis selanjutnya menjawab rumusan masalah dari penciptaan karya fotografi tersebut yakni bagaimana konsep dan visual karya fotografi serta proses penciptaanya. Proses penciptaan karya ini menggunakan metode yang dikemukakan Hawkins. Hal tersebut dikarenakan selaras dengan proses penciptaan karya fotografi, yakni eksplorasi (pra produksi), eksperimentasi (pemotretan), serta pembentukan (penyuntingan). Karya fotografi hitam putih yang diciptakan merupakan simbol permasalahan yang dirasakan penulis sebagai refleksi kepada apresiator. Penulis merumuskan fenomena kontradiksi yang terjadi diantara alam dengan manusia menjadi 7 konsep karya foto hitam putih, antara lain adalah “Decaying Myself”, ”Parasite Paralysis”, “When Tomorrow Comes Before Yesterday”, “Eclectic Consciousness”, “Cultivation”, “The Entity and It’s Denial”, dan “Slackliner”. Penggambarannya menggunakan model sebagai simbol dari permasalahan dari setiap konsep karya, dengan perpaduan kontras dan tonal warna yang menghadirkan nuansa sesuai konsep masing-masing karya. Karya yang tercipta diharapkan dapat menjadi refleksi kepada apresiator terhadap keberadaan dirinya dan alam lingkungan sekitarnya.
English Abstract
Human is an important part of the nature and both of them need each other. However, the currently phenomenon shows the dichotomy in between. Various reason such as economic, makes human forget their nature. It makes people do contradictory things to the nature. The researcher feels by himself about the gap and dissonance in between in daily life. According to the phenomenon and researcher’s subjective experiences, there is anxiety which is proposed in black and white photography. Therefore, the researcher will answer problems of the study of creating the photography. The problem of the studies is about the concept and visual photography and also the process how to create them. The process of making the photography used the Hawkins’ method. It is because the method was aligned with the process of making the photography, that was called exploration (pre-production), experimentation (taking the pictures) and formation (editing). The black and white photography creations which were created were the symbol of the problem the researcher felt as the reflection to the appreciators. The researcher formulated contradiction phenomenon between the human and nature that became 7 concepts of black and white photography, there were “Decaying Myself”,” Parasite Paralysis”, “When Tomorrow Comes Before Yesterday”, “Eclectic Consciousness”, “Cultivation”, “The Entity and It’s Denial”, and “Slackliner”. The depictions used the model as the problem’s symbol of each work with contrasting blend and tonal color which presented the nuance as the concept of each work. The photographs are expected to be able to become reflection for the appreciators toward their existence and the nature around them.
