Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan proses pembelajaran dan hasil belajar siswa dalam menulis teks deskripsi dengan metode Concept Mapping. Pada studi pendahuluan, terjadi beberapa permasalahan yang terjadi dalam proses pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi yang berujung pada kurang baiknya nilai siswa. Penelitian tindakan kelas dengan pendekatan kualitatif ini menggunakan siswa kelas XI-APK 2 sebagai sumber datanya. Data yang diperoleh berupa penilaian dari lembar pengamatan guru, pengamatan siswa, dan hasil belajar siswa. Data ini akan dianalisis dengan analisis data kualitatif (proses) dan analisis data kuantitatif (hasil). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada tahap prasiklus sejumlah 27 dari 48 siswa atau sebesar 56,25% melampaui KKM 78. Pada tahap siklus I jumlah itu meningkat menjadi 33 siswa atau 68,75%, dan meningkat lagi pada tahap siklus II menjadi 39 siswa atau 81,25%. Hasil itu menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode concept mapping dapat mempengaruhi nilai hasil belajar siswa. Dengan demikian, penelitian tindakan kelas ini dinyatakan berhasil dan selesai pada tahap siklus II karena persentase ketuntasan siswa sudah mencapai sasaran penelitian yang diharapkan yaitu 80%.
English Abstract
The objective of this study is to improve learning process and the student learning outcomes in writing descriptive text by using Concept Mapping Method. In background of the study, some problems happen during the learning process of writing descriptive text. Those problems causes the students get low score. Classroom action research with qualitative approach in this study is done by choosing XI-APK 2 students as the source of data. The data is the result of teacher observation sheet, student observation sheet, and the student learning outcomes. The data will be analyzed by using qualitative data analysis (for the process) and quantitative data analysis (for the result). The result of this study reveals that 27 of 48 students or 56.25% pass the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) which is 78. The result increases become 33 students or 68.75% in cycle I and the result also increases become 39 or 81.25% in cycle II. Based on the result, it shows that the implementation of concept mapping method can influence the student learning outcomes. Therefore, this study is successful and done in cycle II because the percentage of the students have achieved the criteria of success which is 80%.
