Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menjelaskan perbedaan perspektif dalam artikel online dari TheIntercept.com dan TheBlaze.com tentang kebijakan imigrasi. Untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian, peneliti menggunakan teori perspektivisasi dari analisis wacana yang digagas oleh Renkema (2004). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan sumber data yang digunakan adalah artikel online oleh Glenn Greenwald dari TheIntercept.com dan Matt Walsh dari TheBlaze.com. Peneliti menemukan 54 kalimat di artikel 1 dari TheIntercept.com dan 50 kalimat di artikel 2 dari TheBlaze.com yang mengandung kemungkinan ideologi dan niat dari penulis. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, artikel 1 jelas berpihak sebagai artikel kontra terhadap kebijakan imigrasi. Penulis menggunakan pilihan kata negatif untuk menggambarkan kebijakan imigrasi, seperti; tidak manusiawi, fanatik, memalukan, berbahaya. Sementara artikel 2 jelas berpihak sebagai artikel pro. Penulis menggunakan pilihan kata positif untuk menggambarkan kebijakan imigrasi, seperti; melindungi, masuk akal, bijaksana. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kedua penulis memiliki perspektif mereka masing-masing dalam menyusun artikel. Kedua penulis tersebut menggunakan beberapa bukti untuk mendukung gagasan mereka sendiri. Tujuan kedua penulis sama, yaitu membuat pembaca menyadari dan mempertimbangkan tentang apa yang telah penulis sampaikan. Penelitian ini terbatas pada analisis perspektivisasi dan belum membahas tentang ideologi yang dianut oleh penulis yang membuat diskursus terbentuk dalam beberapa perspektif. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti selanjutnya disarankan untuk menggunakan teori Analisis Wacana Kritis untuk menganalisis ideologi di dalam diskursus yang dibuat oleh media masa atau penulis yang mana digunakan untuk membangun cara berfikir para pembacanya.
English Abstract
This study was conducted to describe the different perspectives of the online articles from TheIntercept.com and TheBlaze.com about travel ban. To reach the research objectives, the researcher used the theory of perspectivization of discourse analysis proposed by Renkema (2004). This research used descriptive qualitative method and the data sources were the online articles by Glenn Greenwald from TheIntercept.com and Matt Walsh from TheBlaze.com. The researcher found 54 sentences of the article 1 from TheIntercept.com and 50 sentences of the article 2 from TheBlaze.com which contain possible ideologies and intentions from the writers. Based on the result of analysis, the article 1 is clearly stood as contra online article of the travel ban. The writer used negative dictions to portray the travel ban, such as; inhumane, bigoted, shameful, dangerous. While article 2 is clearly stood as pro. The writer used positive dictions to portray the travel ban, such as; protect, logical, sensible. It can be concluded that both writers had their own perspectives in constructing the articles. Both writers used several evidences in supporting their own ideas. The purpose of both writers is the same, which is to make the readers realize and consider about what they had been delivered. This research is limited to the analysis of perspectivization and it has not discussed the ideology held by the writer which makes discourse is constructed in certain perspectives. Therefore, the next researchers are suggested to use Critical Discourse Analysis theory to analyze the ideology inside of discourse made by mass media or the writer which is used to construct the way people think.
