Abstract

Pencemaran yang terjadi di Sub DAS Tukad Badung Hulu menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan kualitas air akibat kontaminasi dari limbah domestik terhadap air sungai. Limbah domestik disepanjang Sub DAS Tukad Badung Hulu dialirkan langsung ke sungai begitu saja tanpa adanya pengolahan terlebih dahulu. Sub DAS Tukad Badung Hulu terindikasi mengandung BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), dan fosfat (Total Phosphat) yang melebihi standar baku mutu air. Pengolahan limbah dengan teknik sederhana diperlukan guna untuk mereduksi kadar polutan yang terkandung di Sub DAS Tukad Badung Hulu. Constructed wetland adalah proses pengolahan limbah dengan teknologi yang sederhana yang bertujuan untuk penurunan kadar polutan yang terkandung dalam air dan penjernihan air dimana terdapat tumbuhan air yang tumbuh di daerah tersebut memegang peranan penting dalam proses pemulihan kualitas air limbah secara alamiah (self purification). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode constructed wetland tipe free water surface dengan media tanam berupa tanah dan kerikil dan menggunakan tanaman akar wangi (Chrysopogon Zizanioides), tanaman cattails (Typha Angustifolia), dan tanaman papirus (Cyperus Papyrus). Waktu tinggal air (Hydraulic Retention Time/HRT) yang direncanakan yaitu selama 1 hari, 2 hari, dan 4 hari. Hasil pengolahan limbah dengan menggunakan metode constructed wetland menghasilkan penurunan BOD, COD, dan fosfat masing-masing sebesar 61,54%, 50,91%, dan 40,67%.

English Abstract

Pollution occurring in Tukad Badung upstream caused a degradation of water quality due to contamination from domestic waste into the river. Domestic waste along Tukad Badung upstream is directly channeled into the river without any prior processing. The Tukad Badung upstream is indicated to contain BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), and phosphate (Total Phosphat) exceeding water quality standard. Simple technical management is needed to reduce the pollutant level contained in Tukad Badung upstream Constructed wetland is a simple wastewater treatment process that aims to decrease the levels of pollutants contained in water and water purification where there are water plants growing in the area plays an important role in the recovery process of waste water naturally (self purification). This research was carried out using the method of constructed wetland type of free water surface with planting media in the form of soil and gravel and using vetiver plant (Chrysopogon Zizanioides), cattails (Typha Angustifolia), and papyrus plant (Cyperus Papyrus). Hydraulic retention time (HRT) is planned for 1 day, 2 days, and 4 days. The result of waste treatment using constructed wetland method resulted in decreasing BOD, COD, and phosphate by 61.54%, 50.91%, and 40.67%, respectively. When a large percentage produced in the study was applied to a large pollutant in the Tukad Badung upstream, the large BOD, COD, and phosphate pollutants in the Tukad Badung upstream could drop to 9.23 mg / l, 17.67 mg / l, and 4 , 01 mg / l..
