Abstract

Program Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan (PLP) adalah kegiatan wajib bagi mahasiswa Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi di Universitas Brawijaya, yang dirancang untuk memberikan pengalaman praktis dalam memahami pembelajaran dan pengelolaan pendidikan di sekolah. Melalui program ini, mahasiswa dapat mengembangkan soft skills dan hard skills yang relevan untuk mendukung karier di masa depan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan (PLP) terhadap pengembangan soft skills dan hard skills mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi Universitas Brawijaya. PLP merupakan program wajib yang memberikan pengalaman praktis kepada mahasiswa dalam memahami dinamika lingkungan sekolah dan menginternalisasi budaya profesional. Pada penelitian ini, melibatkan kompetensi guru sebagai indikator pengukuran, PLP diukur melalui indikator kompetensi dasar pengenalan sekolah dan kompetensi pedagogi. Soft skills diukur menggunakan indikator kompetensi kepribadian dan sosial, sedangkan hard skills diukur melalui kompetensi profesional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada mahasiswa angkatan 2021 sebanyak 61 mahasiswa yang telah menyelesaikan PLP, baik melalui program reguler maupun Kampus Mengajar. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa PLP memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap pengembangan soft skills dan hard skills mahasiswa. Secara spesifik, PLP mampu menjelaskan 39% variasi pada kompetensi sosial, 33,6% pada kompetensi kepribadian, dan 50,5% pada kompetensi profesional, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya PLP sebagai salah satu program strategis dalam mempersiapkan mahasiswa menjadi pendidik profesional. PLP tidak hanya mendukung penguasaan aspek teknis melalui pengembangan hard skills tetapi juga meningkatkan kemampuan interpersonal, seperti komunikasi dan kepemimpinan, yang termasuk dalam soft skills. Dengan kompetensi yang lebih baik, mahasiswa dapat lebih siap menghadapi tantangan dunia kerja, baik di sektor pendidikan maupun industri teknologi. Oleh karena itu, PLP menjadi landasan penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas lulusan pendidikan teknologi informasi di era globalisasi.

English Abstract

The School Field Introduction Program (PLP) is a mandatory activity for Information Technology Education students at Brawijaya University, designed to provide practical experience in understanding learning and managing education in schools. Through this program, students can develop relevant soft skills and hard skills to support their future careers. This study aims to analyze the effect of Introduction to School Field (PLP) on the development of soft skills and hard skills of students of the Information Technology Education Study Program at Universitas Brawijaya. PLP is a mandatory program that provides practical experience to students in understanding the dynamics of the school environment and internalizing professional culture. In this study, involving teacher competence as a measurement indicator, PLP is measured through indicators of basic school introduction competence and pedagogical competence. Soft skills are measured using indicators of personality and social competence, while hard skills are measured through professional competence. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to students of class 2021 as many as 61 students who had completed PLP, both through the regular program and the Teaching Campus. The results of the analysis show that PLP has a significant influence on the development of students' soft skills and hard skills. Specifically, PLP is able to explain 39% of the variation in social competence, 33.6% in personality competence, and 50.5% in professional competence, while the rest is influenced by other factors not studied. The results of this study confirm the importance of PLP as one of the strategic programs in preparing students to become professional educators. PLP not only supports the mastery of technical aspects through the development of hard skills but also improves interpersonal abilities, such as communication and leadership, which are included in soft skills. With better competence, students can be better prepared to face the challenges of the world of work, both in the education sector and the technology industry. Therefore, PLP is an important foundation to improve the quality of information technology education graduates in the era of globalization.
