Kurnia, Rizki (2024) Hubungan Mode Transportasi dengan Keparahan Cedera Menggunakan Trauma Injury Severity Score Di IGD RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Trauma is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality globally. The management of injury severity in trauma patients requires an accurate assessment system to improve patient prognosis. This study aims to analyze the relationship between transportation mode and injury severity using the Trauma Injury Severity Score (TRISS) in the Emergency Department (ED) of Dr. Saiful Anwar Regional Public Hospital in Malang. The research design is an analytical observational study with a retrospective approach. The respondents in this study consisted of 140 medical records of patients who were clinically diagnosed with trauma. The research instrument used was a research recording sheet and the TRISS calculator. The relationship between two variables was tested using the Spearman correlation test with a p-value of 0.05. The results of the study show that the majority of trauma patients were transported to the ED of Dr. Saiful Anwar Regional Public Hospital in Malang using private vehicles. The average Trauma Injury Severity Score (TRISS) value for trauma patients in the ED of Dr. Saiful Anwar Regional Public Hospital was 0.9802. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is no relationship between transportation mode and injury severity using the Trauma Injury Severity Score, with a two-tailed significance value (p-value) of 0.303. Therefore, nurses and medical personnel must conduct a comprehensive assessment of trauma patients. Additionally, nurses need a solid understanding of trauma scoring to determine the severity of injury in trauma patients.
