Abstract

Pergeseran paradigma yang terjadi dalam industri keuangan seiring dengan perkembangan Financial Technology (Fintech) telah mengubah secara drastis bagaimana cara layanan keuangan disediakan dan diakses. Perkembangan teknologi di bidang finansial khususnya fintech memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keputusan keuangan di kalangan Generasi Z terutama dalam hal perilaku investasi. Nilai transaksi cryptocurrency meningkat sebesar 142% mencapai total transaksi senilai US$1,3 miliar pada bulan maret. Selain itu, peningkatan juga terjadi pada jumlah pengguna baru yang naik sekitar 20%, serta pengguna aktif yang tumbuh hingga 40%. Mayoritas pengguna baru tersebut berada di rentang usia 25 hingga 35 tahun, yang merupakan kelompok yang relevan dengan Generasi Z dan milenial. FIRE Movement semakin populer di kalangan Generasi Z yang tertarik pada gagasan untuk mencapai kebebasan finansial di usia muda melalui pengelolaan keuangan yang disiplin dan investasi yang cerdas. Responden yang Penelitian ini berupaya menganalisis faktor yang memengaruhi minat penggunaan cryptocurrency di kalangan Generasi Z di DKI Jakarta menggunakan model Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). Responden pada penelitian ini merupakan pengguna aktif atau pernah menggunakan cryptocurrency, termasuk generasi Z (18-27 tahun), dan berdomisili di DKI Jakarta. Resp onden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 122 orang dengan mengumpulkan data melalui penebaran kuesioner. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan lima dari delapan hipotesis diterima karena memiliki hubungan yang positif dan efek yang signifikan. Performance Expectancy, Perceived Securiy, Early retirement berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap Behavioral Intention penggunaan cryptocurrency. Selain itu Facilitating Conditions dan Behavioral Intention berpengaruh positif terhadap Use Behavioral cryptocurrency.

English Abstract

The paradigm shift in the financial industry, driven by the development of Financial Technology (Fintech), has drastically transformed how financial services are provided and accessed. Technological advancements in finance, particularly fintech, have significantly influenced financial decision-making among Generation Z, especially in terms of investment behavior. The transaction value of cryptocurrency increased by 142%, reaching a total transaction value of US$1.3 billion in March. Additionally, there was a 20% increase in new users and a 40% growth in active users. The majority of these new users are within the age range of 25 to 35 years, which is relevant to both Generation Z and millennials. The FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) Movement has gained popularity among Generation Z, who are attracted to the idea of achieving financial independence at a young age through disciplined financial management and smart investing. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the intention to use cryptocurrency among Generation Z in Jakarta using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model. The respondents of this study are active users or individuals who have used cryptocurrency, aged 18 to 27 years, and residing in Jakarta. A total of 122 respondents participated in the study through questionnaire distribution. The results of this study indicate that five out of eight hypotheses are accepted, as they exhibit a positive relationship and significant effects. Performance Expectancy, Perceived Security, and Early Retirement significantly influence Behavioral Intention to use cryptocurrency. Additionally, Facilitating Conditions and Behavioral Intention positively affect the Use Behavior of cryptocurrency.
