Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis produktivitas dan estimasi output sapi Madura di Kecamatan Ganding dan Lenteng, Kabupaten Sumenep. Materi penelitian yaitu sapi Madura dengan jumlah 369 ekor yang terdiri dari 167 ekor di Kecamatan Lenteng dan 202 ekor di Kecamatan Ganding. Responden penelitian berjumlah 227 peternak yang terdiri dari 111 orang peternak dari Kecamatan Ganding dan 116 peternak dari Kecamatan Lenteng. Metode yang dilakukan dalam pengumpulan data menggunakan metode survei. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa struktur populasi sapi Madura didominasi oleh sapi Madura betina dengan tingkat kelahiran 15,02%, tingkat kematian 1,41%, Natural Increase 13,60%, Calf Crop 33,73%, dan output 13.60%. Performa reproduksi sapi Madura betina menunjukkan nilai Service per Conception 1,49, Conception Rate 92,78%, Days Open 108,97±26,89 hari, dan Calving Interval 388,04±27,85 hari. Karakteristik ukuran tubuh sapi Madura menunjukkan rataan ukuran tinggi gumba, panjang badan, lingkar dada, dan tinggi hip sapi Madura berdasarkan umur yang berbeda menunjukkan perbedaan sangat nyata (P<0,01). Secara kualitatif sapi Madura di Kecamatan Ganding memiliki karakter spesifik yaitu warna tubuh merah bata, warna muka sama dengan warna tubuh, memiliki tanduk, warna spesifik pantat sama dengan warna tubuh, memiliki punuk, bentuk mata bulat, memiliki gelambir, warna spesifik pantat putih, rambut ekor hitam, bentuk telinga kecil bambu, memiliki ekor panjang, arah tanduk ke atas, dan warna kaki putih. Sapi Madura di Kecamatan Lenteng memiliki karakter spesifik memiliki garis telinga, memiliki garis punggung, warna spesifik pantat smear, warna tubuh kuning padi, memiliki lingkar mata hitam, warna tubuh merah coklat, warna teracak hitam, memiliki ekor pendek, muzzle hitam, bentuk mata sipit, warna kaki smear, memiliki jaringan diantara kaki. Saran dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya perbaikan manajemen pemeliharaan sapi Madura produktif dan Sapi Madura betina yang masuk ke dalam SNI 7651.2 tahun 2023 dengan rincian yaitu umur 6-12 bulan 19,35%, >12-18 bulan 21,21%, >18-24 bulan 14,04%, >24-36 bulan 9,62% dapat dijadikan bibit dan layak mendapatkan Surat Keterangan Layak Bibit (SKLB).
English Abstract
This research aimed to analyze the productivity and estimate the output of Madura cattle in Ganding District and Lenteng District, Sumenep Regency. This research was conducted from August 2023 to September 2023. The research materials consisted of 369 Madura cattle, with 167 in Lenteng District and 202 in Ganding District. The research respondents were 227 farmers, including 111 farmers from Ganding District and 116 farmers from Lenteng District. The methods used in data collection were survey. The determination of the sample was carried out by purposive sampling. The data was calculated and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the population structure of Madura cattle was dominated by female Madura cattle with a birth rate of 15.02%, a mortality rate of 1.41%, a Natural Increase of 13.60%, a Calf Crop of 33,73%, and an output of 13.60%. The reproductive performance of Madura cows showed a Services per Conception of 1.49, a Conception Rate of 92.78%, Days Open of 108.97 ± 26.89 days, and a calving interval of 388.04 ± 27.85 days. The characteristics of the body size of Madura cattle showed that the average size of the wither height, body length, chest circumference, and hip height based on different ages showed very significant differences (P <0.01). Qualitatively, Madura cattle in Ganding exhibited specific characteristics such as reddish-brick body color, facial color matching the body color, horns, specific rump color matching the body, humps, round eyes, dewlaps, specific white rump, black tail hair, small bamboo-shaped ears, long tails, upward-pointing horns, and white legs. In Lenteng Regency, Madura cattle showed distinct characteristics, including ear stripes, a dorsal line, smeared rump color, pale yellow body color, black eye rings, reddish-brown body color, black hooves, short tails, black muzzles, narrow eyes, smeared leg color, and interdigitated tissue between legs. The research recommends improving the management of productive Madura cattle.
