Abstract
Penelitian ini akan menjalani studi kasus tentang Grup Reyog Brawijaya Universitas Brawijaya untuk menggali pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang penggunaan tubuh melalui injeksi tubuh dan ekspresi dalam setiap proses kreatif Grup Reyog Brawijaya. Reyog memiliki peran penting dalam budaya dan sosial masyarakat jawa, terutama di Universitas Brawijaya. Metode yang akan dilakukan untuk mendapatkan sebuah data pada penelitian kali ini menggunakan in-depth interview, observasi partisipasi, dan studi literature. Dalam konteks proses kreatif, penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa pembentukan gerakan dan karakter dalam Reyog Brawijaya melibatkan integrasi antara teknik tubuh, internalisasi nilai-nilai tradisi, dan improvisasi yang menciptakan makna baru tanpa menghilangkan akar budaya. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan teori embodiment dan konsep techniques of the body, Reyog Brawijaya bukan hanya sekadar seni pertunjukan, tetapi juga sebuah ruang di mana tradisi, kreativitas, dan ekspresi budaya berinteraksi secara harmonis. Tubuh para penari menjadi instrumen yang tidak hanya memvisualisasikan gerakan, tetapi juga merepresentasikan sejarah, nilai filosofis, dan identitas budaya yang diwariskan dari generasi ke generasi. Proses kreatif yang melibatkan latihan, internalisasi nilai tradisi, dan inovasi menjadi elemen kunci.
English Abstract
This research will conduct a case study on the Reyog Brawijaya Group of Brawijaya University to explore a deeper understanding of the use of the body through body injection and expression in every creative process of the Reyog Brawijaya Group. Reyog has an important role in the culture and society of Javanese society, especially in Brawijaya University. The method that will be used to obtain data in this study uses in-depth interviews, participant observation, and literature studies. In the context of the creative process, this study reveals that the formation of movements and characters in Reyog Brawijaya involves the integration of body techniques, internalization of traditional values, and improvisation that creates new meanings without eliminating cultural roots. By using the approach of embodiment theory and the concept of techniques of the body, Reyog Brawijaya is not just a performing art, but also a space where tradition, creativity, and cultural expression interact harmoniously. The dancers' bodies become instruments that not only visualize movements, but also represent history, philosophical values, and cultural identities that are passed down from generation to generation. The creative process involving practice, internalization of traditional values, and innovation are key elements.
