Abstract
Setiap orang tentu memiliki minat dan kegemarannya masing-masing. Bagi penulis ular merupakan suatu hal yang sangat menarik untuk ditelisik lebih dalam. Menurut penulis keindahan bisa datang dari mana saja, bahkan dari hewan liar yang dianggap membahayakan oleh sebagian besar masyarakat. Maka dari itu penulis tertarik untuk mengangkat tema mengenai eksotika ular lokal sebagai ide penciptaan untuk tugas akhir ini. Istilah “eksotika” sendiri bukan semata-semata untuk menunjukan keindahan jenis ular tertentu yang cukup langka, melainkan juga untuk mempertontonkan bahwa jenis ular yang sering kita temui di sekitar kita juga memiliki nilai keindahannya masing-masing. Keindahan inilah yang coba diwujudkan dalam bentuk karya lukis oleh penulis. Karya tugas akhir ini juga bertujuan untuk melatih penulis dalam menciptakan karya lukis dengan objek ular sebgai pokok perupaan. Dalam berkarya penulis menggunakan pendekatan ilustrasi dan metafora sebagai landasan penciptaan dimana penulis menggambarkan karakteristik dan makna filosofis tentang suatu jenis ular dengan suatu simbol tertentu. Konsep yang telah dirancang penulis kemudian dilanjutkan pada proses pembentukan dengan metode dari Alma M. Hawkins yang meliputi eksplorasi, improvisasi dan forming sehingga dapat terwujud serangkaian 10 karya tugas akhir dengan judul “Eksotika Ular Lokal Indonesia sebagai Ide Penciptaan Karya Seni Lukis”. Dari perjalanan penciptaan tersebut pada akhirnya penulis memperoleh banyak wawasan baru mulai dari bagaimana merencanakan konsep dan mewujudkan gagasan pada karya yang diciptakan hingga menulis laporan menggunakan bahasa yang baku dengan susunan kalimat yang baik dan benar. Dengan adanya tugas akhir ini diharapkan dapat memberikan edukasi bagi penulis maupun perupa lain dalam menciptakan karya seni baru dengan tema yang serupa.
English Abstract
Everyone certainly has their own interests and hobbies. For the author, snakes are something very interesting to explore further. According to the author, beauty can come from anywhere, even from wild animals that are considered dangerous by most people. Therefore, the author is interested in raising the theme of the exoticism of local snakes as an idea for the creation of this final assignment. The term "exotic" itself is not merely to show the beauty of a certain type of snake that is quite rare, but also to show that the types of snakes that we often find around us also have their own beauty value. This beauty is what the author tries to realize in the form of paintings. This final assignment also aims to train the author in creating paintings with snakes as the main object of the depiction. In creating the work, the author uses an illustration and metaphor approach as the basis for creation where the author describes the characteristics and philosophical meaning of a type of snake with a certain symbol. The concept that has been designed by the author is then continued in the formation process with the method of Alma M. Hawkins which includes exploration, improvisation and forming so that a series of 10 final assignment works can be realized with the title "Exotic Local Indonesian Snakes as an Idea for Creating Painting Works". From the journey of creation, the author finally gained many new insights starting from how to plan concepts and realize ideas in the works created to writing reports using standard language with good and correct sentence structure. With this final assignment, it is hoped that it can provide education for other authors and artists in creating new works of art with similar themes.
