Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap penggunaan ponsel sebagai alat dalam kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Data diperoleh dari kuesioner Google form dengan partisipan sebanyak 76 siswa kelas 11. Kuesioner terdiri dari 16 item mengenai efektivitas dan manfaat penggunaan mobile dalam kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang diadaptasi dari Novanto & Srikandi (2021) dan Alsied (2019). Data dianalisis menggunakan Microsoft Excel 2021 dengan cara menghitung data untuk memperoleh skor rata-rata setiap item, setiap dimensi, dan seluruh item. Temuannya menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap penggunaan ponsel dalam kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris karena ponsel dianggap sebagai alat pembelajaran untuk membantu siswa belajar dan mendukung kegiatan belajar mereka.
English Abstract
The present study aims to determine students' perceptions of using mobile phones as a tool in English learning activities at the Senior High School level. The method used in this study was a quantitative approach with a survey method. The data were obtained from a Google form questionnaire with 76 students grade 11 as the participants. The questionnaire consisted of 16 items regarding the effectiveness and benefits of using mobile in English learning activities adapted from Novanto & Srikandi (2021) and Alsied (2019). The data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2021 by calculating the data to obtain the mean score of each item, each dimension, and all items. The finding reveals that students have positive perceptions of the use mobile phones in English learning activities since the mobile phones are considered as learning tools to help students learn and support their learning activities.
